thanks both, I was aware that you can get them cheaper online, but the college advised us to get the more expensive ones, the girls last year who got the cheap ones, spent the whole 2 weeks chucking up, which would be misserable if you are away from home, and also if she did chuck them up, she would not then be covered for malaria, would rather not take the risk, but thanks ladies xx

It's been wet & windy here today & there is more of the same to come.

ATOS, please remember that they are only following instructions from the government, I'm nothing to do with them, but I do feel they are being used as a scapegoat.

Nice to see you back Monn, you were missed.

    Have a good evening everyone.

    Hi hester,

You are right ATOS are only following instructions from the government.

The problems are the sub standard medical that at best are full of Inaccuracy's .
There are people that have been very very ill. And have failed then medical. only to die a few months later.
The lucky ones that fail. Take it on to a tribunal and most win.

The system that they use to fine out who if fit for work, has in some county' been banned as It dose trap some ill people into being fit for work when they are not.
That;s our Governments falt for deciding that it was fit to use in this county.

But the main problem is the sub substandard medical that are being done.
There was a debate about it last week in the House of commons, There are a gowning group of MP's 40 at the moment but growing, That are very unhappy about the way that Atos has treated people. These MP's are cross party so it not one party having a go at another.

But you are right. The Government dose has a lot to anwser for.

Update on Dad..... We think we have won:T:T The NHS MAY pay all of his fees, but if not it will only be about £35 instead of £3000 a month!:T
DD seems to think so. They are doing the panel review this afternoon, so we should know tomorrow.

Hopefully we will get the fees refunded too, but you never know.

That's Great news about your Dad.!:T:T

But you really should not have to fight for care of ill and elderly people.:mad:
Still that;s the world we live in.
I can remember 13 years ago. My Mum had to fight to get my Granddad the care he needed. My Mum did get him into a home. He died less than two weeks later. But it was a fight to get him there. No one wonted to take the irresponsibility for him.
After he Died, A bill turned up for just over £700! They wonted my Dad to pay it as my Granddad had no money left after we buried him (My Gran died just before we got him into the home. so we had to pay out for moth of them and that used all there money up)
My Mum did get it sorted and the bill got paid for my the Council.

He needed help for years before he died but they could not get it. My Gran ended up looking after him. Day and night. That's what the Family doctor says killed her. She was worn out and not taking care of herself in the end.

It seem that 13 years later. Its no better.

Let just hope it dose not get any worse :A

    Oh by the way.

If I get banned from this site site its because of this thread.

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4382647

I believe that Atos will try to have most of us that speak out agenst them removed from this site. As I the past this has been done on other sites. And Atos have even been able to get charity forums closed down In the past.
You can read all about that on the the thread,

    It dose make good reading

Most of you are friends with me on Facebook so we can still chat from time to time.
I started reading the thread, but had to stop after just a few posts, as I could feel a major panic attack coming on, and I'm on my own (well, just Megan for company, and she can't do much if I have a fainting fit). I'm just dreading the whole thing; I've even been told by the rheumy to, and I quote her words, "just go away and live with it"; yet the Drs throw up their hands in horror if I mention taking pro-active steps to put a stop to the pain for good. I just can't take any more stress.

    Sorry, I'll shut up now.

    Hi all,

Had to go to work today, I still felt a bit teary about Baxter, house feels weird without him, but had to show the kids that life goes on, did finish early so I could be home before the kids, just in case they wobbled.
Aww, sweetie, you will feel teary for a while; Baxter was a member of the family, never mind that he had four legs, fur and a tail. Be kind to yourself; let yourself grieve; no-one will think it odd. I still miss Penny-dog; yes, I can talk about her without filling up (usually); but I'll never, never forget her. Have a (((HUG))).

    Evening
Blowing winds and rain here today, glad its dark and I can shut the curtains.
Work today was surprisingly calm for a windy Monday. Then popped into town. Was hoping for a NSD then remembered its DS godfathers grandson birthday tomorrow, had to get card and note in the post, £1.50 in total so not too bad. Also paid some of DS money into his savings account. He wants driving lessons, I cant afford to pay for licence etc so he has to contribute. I am proud of him for making the effort.
Not much OS as have been at work, did take packed lunch, DW and WM both been on, washing now on airer havent used tumbler for several washes now.

MG - So glad you're ok, we have been wondering where you had got to. Well done on the weight loss.
Islandmaid - Take your time, our dog passed away nearly 3 years ago and I still expect her to greet me when I come home.
    Lou - look after yourself.
Hilstep - £3K a month! That's scandalous. Hope it is all sorted now.

Hugs to anyone feeling under the weather today.

Work was manic, just not enough hours in the day. DD has been my secretary today as she was off, she phoned to get the TV chap to get the freesat box working properly - he's coming next week. Also booked the viewing of a house - been to see it and it is just what I would like. Also she contacted the estate agent who is coming tomorrow. Hopefully the house will go on the market very soon.

Washing on airers as it's too wet and windy for outside. Going to get a box of something out of the garage tonight to sort through.

    Take care. XX

Well we have been giving the ATOS rep hell!
And asking some very hard questions that son't get an answer!

All they are relly answering are the Questions that you can find the answer out by looking on there web site, a=or the web site of the DWP.

But no of us posting are going to let them come on here and try and paint themselves in a good light and and get free adverting on what a good company they are and how good there customer services are by "Engaging" with there "Customers"

As I posted on the thread, We the people are not your customers. The Government are your customers they are the ones that them the contract.

By the way the Co-op group of company's are not renewing there contract for OT. That they use them for there workers .

    So good for the CO-OP.!
