I would say normally they can offer you alternatives to change it to but there may be an admin fee. Also depends on the airline sometimes. It really depends, you are better checking with them to be sure tomorrow morning.Happy

There is no legal cooling off period for holidays, if they showed you a brochure and you said you were happy to book, there is no mis selling. Iyt may depend on which operator you are in contract with as to how much it is going to cost to chand but like others, I am just amazed that for the most impprtant holiday of a lifetime, you didn't chose where you wanted to go, or even just ask the agent for advice and then go and check before entering the contract. The only way t change will be at your expense I am afraid.0

There is lots to do in Sri Lanka....you will just have to go on another holiday to do your snorkeling.
Like they say, make the best of everything

If u phone a plumber u expect them to fix the plumbing, so if you tell a travel agent you want a snorkeling holiday.then u expect to get sent somewhere you can snorkel,0

Difference being, plumbers know what they are doing0 -
Ok yes I made a mistake I should of done some reaserch instead of relying on someone who sells holidays as a job! I'm not saying I want to cancel it altogether just if its possible to move destination as its not what I quite asked for, as I booked it yesterday do I have any rights to change my mind?
The word "sells" is the relevant one here. A TA's job is to sell you a holiday, not to help you out of the goodness of their heart.0 -
Who knows, iv been told what i can have but I suppose that means ill get something completely different

It's also there job to sell you what you request.0

I can't help you much but, We went on a 2 part holiday about 2 years ago the first part was Sri Lanka, the 2nd part the Maldives. Sri Lanka was great for culture & Maldives (wasn't a fancy island but had its own reef) great for the snorkelling - we got it at a very very reasonable price through kuoni that we spotted late part of the web site and phoned up - their staff on the phone are extremely knowledgeable and can work out some really good deals. Worth giving them a ring ( don't mention you've already booked) and see what they can offer and going back to your travel agent to play your face and work out a 2 site plan with the travel agent, I think your justified if you asked for snorkelling, where we went in Sri Lanka it wasn't even safe to paddle.0
