Never Buy Unless on Offer

What items do you never buy unless on offer?
Mine is coffee. When it is on offer I stock up and save considerable amounts of money. What is your item you buy?
I have noticed many threads what is cheaper Asda or Aldi? for my basket it is always Aldi. But I do notice, (certain items which may be the supermarkets lost leaders) chicken fillets, tinned tuna , baked beans, shampoo, and washing powder maybe cheaper on special offer elsewhere.
Tell us what to Never Buy Unless on Offer.

As always cutting back not cutting out.

mysupermarket website tracks prices so I can work out good price guidelines.

    how do you do that?

Do you work out your basket and then request price alerts for the items choosen? You then receive an email when one of those products the price has dropped is that right? Is there an easier way of doing it?

Hi Towser, I let Lidl take the strain nowadays, saves carting all over the place. Stock up on their half price weekends. Will check out my Supermarkets, but Sains here are very expensive and spending their £2 off for £20 is a nightmare.
Have given up on Tesco, too far and too expensive.
Heron have some good prices, mis-shaped bacon and Kingsmill bread with a voucher, though their frozen veg are dearer than Lidl.

When you buy cheese on offer do you freeze it or is the use by date long enough to buy several packs.

Cheese will keep in the frig, but I re-package (and slice if necessary) but am a cheese-aholic so best in the freezer.

Loo roll, coffee and laundry powder are all things I look for on special offer.
I don't look constantly, but start keeping an eye open when I open the last of my current stock pile. Generally that gives me about a month to scope out the best deals.

Toilet roll, Persil and Sainsbury's Assam tea (keeps forever), coffee beans, Heinz beans, tinned salmon, San Pelegrino limonata - more or less anything we normally buy that will keep, I will stock up on. It's a better return on investment than leaving it in the bank!
