O/S Daily Sunday 27 January 2013

Options
OS Daily - Sunday 27th January 2013 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Now getting light here this morning, snow now gone but wet and windy instead! Started raining during the night.

Have had a bad couple of days - not been well at all - but feeling much better this morning - have managed to get some sleep last night, so hoping I'm on the mend. Yesterday was a complete washout - did virtually nothing except go to bathroom showroom to show DH what items we will be having when we refit the bathroom - I wanted him to see what I'd picked (he agreed with my choices!) - we also needed to pick what wet wall panels, tiles for remaining walls, tiles for the floor, and ceiling covering, lights, extractor etc - am really pleased with the colours/fittings etc - just hoping it looks how I imagine it! It's not going to be flash, but good middle range quality, and user friendly for us all. Did manage to organise food without buying anything extra/takeaways though - which is something that we would have done in the past!

Did get joint of beef out to defrost overnight - so today we will be having roast beef with the trimmings - need to go to the outlaws this morning as it's MIL's bday this week to take her prezzie and card - will then just come home and chill - as will be going to work tomorrow so want to make sure I rest beforehand as although I feel much better I'm still not "right".

Have a restful and chilled Sunday everyone x

    Keep safe and well x

Tea tonight is chicken wrapped in bacon, a request from DD1.

    Morning All

Wet and windy here, the rain has been torrential but at least it has washed the snow away!

Burns Supper seemed to be very successful last night, I left just after 10 as we had caterers in so they would do the clearing up. Had a taste of the food served and it was very nice.

Hope to be going to visit friends today if the roads are ok and will have lunch out. Probably no OS today!

Take care and enjoy Sunday. XX

Looks bright again here today, DW just finished, no washing to do as I caught up yesterday. Fish fed & hubby has a cuppa in bed.
I finished a blue & grey blanket yesterday & now I've started another one in baby chunky wool with a blue spot, thank you to the sender.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

  • Good morning everyone :)

We had torrential rain in the early hours and the snow has vanished. It's still very windy but the sky is clearing and I may be able to get some towels or bedding on the washing line.

DH has been up exam marking since 7am and I am supposed to be ebay listing but haven't done anything yet. I think I need to go and make some breakfast and get started on the shirt ironing that he usually does.

I need to raid the freezer for dinner so it may be a lucky dip as I definitely need a new freezer pen. I have to go out and get some bread and a few other bits and pieces, I think I will do this as soon as the shops open as I have been finding that Aldi's shelves empty very quickly lately.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super day :)

good morning chums, wet and windy night, the rain woke me up around 6 this morning so i i got .Once I'm awake I can't just lie in bed I think of all the things I could be doing and so far I have done the ironing and made some 'melting moments' biscuits.Eldest DD Shelley is due this morning for our regular coffee and cake morning.
The wonders of the internet I have managed to put two more family memebrs in touch with each other My cousin in Australia and my cousin in Winnipeg who neither knew of each others existance, so I'm really pleased and have had a couple of nice emails this morning from them both
Its raining still and looks quite grey outside at the moment but all the snow seems to have vanished thank goodness.I have even spotted some bulbs struggling up in the pots in the garden so hopefully spring won't be too far away.
Right I'm off to get a cuppa ,have a nice day everyone and <<hugs >> to those who are down or sad this morning

    Morning all!

The snow has pretty much vanished here but it is really windy now.

Seem to have misplaced my motivation somewhere .....

I really want to get some tidying up done as I have really been slacking. Plus I have a bread mix that I want to bake today. And letters to write too.

Almost 9 and I am not really up and moving yet! x

Oh, Islandmaid, so sorry. It was his time and you did all you could for him. Big hugs to you. XX
  • Morning all

Islandmaid - awww so sorry to hear that :(. RIP Baxter, hope you are okay x

(((((hugs))))) to anyone in need of one

Sun is shining at the moment, which is a welcome break from the wind and rain we had last night.

I'm going to attempt a small walk/jog today, day one run one of the C25K programme. Drs okayed me to start again this week. I'm not sure I'll manage all of it, but want to get back into it again as I really enjoyed running when I started it last August (I got up to week 6, repeating 4 weeks twice). I'm off to meet a friend for coffee this afternoon, and have some stuff to return to shops too.

I also want to do a bit of cooking today, one have one HM curry left in freezer so need to make a batch of that. I may make a soup as I have carrots in freezer. I also want to make a big pan of roasted veg, for dinner and then to use the leftovers in lunches this week. And as I'll put the oven on I'll do cauliflower cheese and maybe a crumble too, both of which can then be portioned and frozen.

OS wise - apart from the cooking not much, bins to go out.

    Have a good day all

    x
