on the house buying board, pinned near the top, there is a whole thread about buying your home. Please help me with my house.
I have spoken to my Dad ,and he will give me the deposit,£20,000,so would it be OK if some-one gave me an idea about my next step, you have made me apprehensive about the lady so I will not reply.
Your next step would be to get the mortgage agreed in principle.
SO you would need to approach a bank directly, or go via a whole of market adviser.
THey would then come back with an answer from the lender as to whether the bank will be happy to agree the mortgage or not for you

To see if she is being honest with you, and if she is a friend of ours, then you should tell us her name.
IF she is some one we know then we will tell you - if we do not know them, how can you trust the advice they give you
I do not want to get any-one into trouble she seemed so nice and it is difficult when you start,I know the problems my Dad and Mum had when they first went into business. So please leave it,this is my first day here and I do not want to spoil finding information out ,just because I was silly.0 -
Just a few questions .
What is a whole of market adviser and a mortgage in principle.
I work for my Dad ,so he would be able to give me a reference.0 -

You seem to ask a lot of specific questions for someone who doesn't know anything. If you have trapped someone touting then fair enough, if I am completely barking up the wrong tree then I apologise.

I have spoken to the estate agents ,after my Dad told me to make an offer .
No one has explained about a mortgage in principle?
Should I wait to see if interest rates go up?
I only want to talk about my house ,and I am asking others please ,and Thank-you0 -

A whole of market adviser is one that can find the best mortgage for you from the whole market place
Some advisers can only advise from one lender, and some advisers from a limited panel of lenders
If you go whole of market they are looking at all options for you to find the best deal.
An agreement in principle is where you allow the lender of your choice (the lender offering you the best deal) to run a credit search and see if they will agree the mortgage.
THis can save time, as if you put in an offer, and then you find you cannot get the mortgage agreed, it can cause problems
YOu would need to move sooner rather than later in terms of fixed rates, as they are all increasing at the moment
