I thought for a moment the Op was the same guy that's been complaining the last couple of days about people driving to slowly in front of him.

  • if you lose three points next week, by the time you get the paperwork through and send your license back; you'll have lost three and gained three.
If you go to court you'll only have 9 points.

When you're so close to getting some points removed it seems harsh that they'd include them.

Thought of slowing down? Few weeks or months of public transport may help you decide to slow down maybe?

It was pretty good advice in my opinion.

Slow down, simple as that and you wouldnt have points on your licence.

We manage to keep to the laws of the land. Its arrogance and sticking two fingers up to the rest of us.

To be honest, I wouldnt only ban you from driving after so many points, I'd crush your bluddy car.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Reading some of the comments here you make it seem as though you've never even taken a library book back late.

IMO, speeding isn't evil, but you need to know when its safe and be even more aware than normal. Speed limits are aimed at the lowest ability drivers. I'm pretty sure a minority of drivers are capable of driving at 80 or even 90 mph in a straight line on a motorway in their disc braked, ESP enabled cars, but some can't even cope driving on a motorway or just f*ck about in middle lane and they 'ruin' it for the rest of us. I'm constantly looking out for cameras on bridges or unmarked cop cars when out on the A/M roads. If you're blasting down the road outside a school then yes you deserve to have the book chucked at you, as you really are a !!!!. Getting caught doing 83 on an empty m1 at 2.00am 4 times would be harsh (although I've known police around derbyshire to be more lenient at this time). I've not got points (yet) but I'm pretty sure the day will eventually come. And it will be one of the times where I sneak over the limit when chatting to the wife, singing to my daughter, or go on a road that used to be a 40 and now a 30 rather than a time I'm deliberately going warp nine. So for the people asking for him to be hung, back the fork off.

Anyway, if you get off, slow the hell down and leave the speeding to the rest of us with 12 points still to spend.

It seems mind boggling that when the OP already has 9 points, they insist on speeding.

No. It's the offence date and the number of "live" points at that time which counts.

Delaying the inevitable does not see you avoid consideration of the potential totting ban.

The only way that would happen is if the case somehow "fell through the cracks" and a summons is never raised. For that, the Police or SCP would have to fail to fail to present an information before magistrates within six months of the date of the alleged offence.

Took the words right out of my mouth, I don't need people like you telling me how to live my life just as I would not have the audacity to tell you. .

Yet because someone with 9 points on clearly hasn't learned their lesson, that is exactly what a judge is going to do.

Was the alleged offence within limit + 10% + 9mph, for example less than 42 in a 30?
That, surely cannot be the limit - 42 allowed in a 30 limit ?
a collegue was recently charged for driving at 37mph in a 30 limit !!
