Speeding ticket

Hi all I have 9 points on my license 3 of which will be outside the 3 years next week, last week I was caught again :(
Does anyone know if the 3 new points will come into force from the day of the alleged speeding or from the actual conviction date.

Thanks

Andrew

Points count on date of offence ...so, unless you can find a reason to be cleared of your latest offence, it is going to put you on 12 (at least). You will be going to court and looking at a 6 month totting ban.

You need to look at the type of argument you can make in court to show "undue hardship" if you want to avoid it...... you should concentrate on hardship being caused to others by your disqualification, not yourself.

Thought of slowing down? Few weeks or months of public transport may help you decide to slow down maybe?

I'm glad there is a totting up system.

It keeps people like you off the road.

    What an arrogant reply.

Took the words right out of my mouth, I don't need people like you telling me how to live my life just as I would not have the audacity to tell you. I just wanted to know the situation.
So thanks to those who have given me a constructive answer.

Well ranger, why ask then? - You clearly have enough experience with 9 points to know the answer anyway.

You come to a forum like MSE to ask a question like that and of course people will snipe at you.

As it happens, I happen to agree. Try slowing down and thinking of others before you kill someone. People don't keeo saying it for nothing (just like the phone thing), there is actually a real risk involved and once you've killed someone, sorry doesn't quite cut it.

    Pleasure is all mine.

OP. Don't come here for tea and sympathy. You'll get the answer you want and 'holier than thou' arrogance in equal measure.
Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.

Are you in England or Wales?

Was the alleged offence within limit + 10% + 9mph, for example less than 42 in a 30?

Have you attended a speed awareness course in the last three years?

If the answers are yes, yes, no, you should be offered one.

Otherwise, you are facing a trip to court and a possible totting ban. The date of the offence is used here, as previously mentioned, so 12 points within three years based on the date of the offences will see you considered for disqualification. Around 25% of drivers reaching 12 points are allowed to continue to drive after a successful exceptional hardship plea.

This may be the best place for you to seek further help;-
