  • Hello all, late post from me as been at work 0700 -1700 today, there should only be one 5 o clock in the day and 5 am shouldnt be it !

Had breakfast at home at 5am ( pleased with myself as declined to join the rest of my shift eating in cafe)

    Took lunch from home

    10 hour shift at work

commute home still another trip left in car before I need to fill up again.

Had dinner at my mums so free !

Spent 12.09 in sainsburys on a few bits en route home ( cat was starving!) but managed to avoid the temptation of a half price duvet.

Bedtime soon as up at 5am again, only 8 hours instead of 10 tomorrow, yay.

  • annoyed with self as tonight turned out to be £50 because I was drinking non-alcoholic beer which I drank 6 of and came to almost £20!!!!!

Means have gone £3 over this month which isn't a disaster but am still annoyed at myself.

That said, I had a fab night even off the booze - everyone was on top form and also walked there and back (prob about 30 mins each way) so good exercise

    Morning everyone

I just want to say thank you so much to those people who gave suggestions and their opinions on my job situation. It means so much to me that you've taken the time to help me, and actually it's helped me come to a decision that IF I get offered it I will take it. Having worked out the money it's do-able with £300 spare (after CC minimum) each month, plus when my loan finishes in September that's another £142 per month.

Best of all, I won the award last night (and £250 of Capital Bonds) but I also got second place in another, which was another £100 of Capital Bonds!!! So an awesome night, I will use some of the vouchers to buy another suit for my second interview (if I get a second interview!!!). Though that is kind of two fingers up to my current employer! :rotfl:

OH and I have spoken about living arrangements and will move *slightly* closer to my new job if I get it (this is still all very theoretical) to cut 20 minutes off the journey, taking it down to an hour each way. Rising you were very right to mention the type of roads, it's all pretty much major A Roads. Staying over night is a brilliant suggestion as well!

Enough rambling...so this is my list for today:

    - HOUSEWORK!!!!!

    And that's it!

Thanks all, big love to everyone

    J x
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

  • well done Josie - that's brilliant! And I am sure well deserved!

And how exciting - a new job and a possible re-locate! I think that's really exiting and shiny new!

Am still annoyed at self for going over and have a banging headache so think that the non-alcoholic beers are not worth drinking! Today I'm going for a cliff walk with a friend so no spending involved at all as have everything in I need from my shop yesterday!

I'm also determined to limit spending next week as far as I can. I have a lunch out on thursday but will book the set menu so £10 then have date on saturday so that will be taxi and train fares etc but am hoping not to spend too much other than that as have planned meals for the week and have everything in!

It just seems so hard to stick to a budget, especially because most of my friends don't really have a budget! I no longer have any debt but I know I've p1ssed money up the wall over time so although I don't "need" to budget I am very conscious of my choices and my aim is to save as much as possible as I have very little by way of savings and no pension!

It may also be that if I don't meet anyone by 38 I decide to go down the route of sperm donor which would mean bringing up a child by myself and bearing all the costs myself so want to prepare for that eventuality (I'm 35 this year so whilst I don't want kids right now as my career is building it is something which is on my radar)

La E your posts are always so inspiring and have given me a nudge into raising some cash rather than continually seeing is disappear! Where are you registered as a MS and also your surveys? Hope the house party is great

Uh, thanks chick. Trying to keep positive about things. :) Check out emysteryshopper - all from the comfort of your home too.

Good luck with the job Josie - I know people who travel as far and they've found folk to car share with to cut their fuel bills.

I'm just continuing with the mystery shops and going to venture out in a bit to get groceries and meeting some friends in the pub for a couple. Walking there so no taxis etc.

    Happy Sunday! xx
