Sat 26th and Sun 27th - What small DFW things will you do this weekend?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:
Morning all!

- Wear a dress from my wardrobe instead of buying a new one!
- Sparkle and love the fact as top performer last year I had an interview somewhere else yesterday :rotfl:

I'm back! I just never have time in the mornings any more:o I used to sit at the laptop when I got up, with my coffee and do my make up but now I don't even open the laptop:o
Must try harder:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hi Everyone
well done on the job interview Josie
Had a bit of a storm here last night, the snow came down so fast and hard thought we were going to get snowed in - its lovely and sunny now like it never happened! Anyway, for today .....
Walk dog locally
get lottery ticket
Check banking and savings
Update diary
Maybe gym later
Do some wardrobe sorting
No shopping today as did it yesterday afternoon after work
Chill a bit!
Have a nice day x0 -
Hi ladies,
Sounds like you've got good plans for today you two. Have fun collecting that award Josiebabie.
Here's me:
Boring mystery shopping
Walk to shops for some bits and bobs
Call cc Co to correct my address
House party here tonight - should be good if people make it in the snow!
Day in today tidying round because ^
Last night I created a 'Money2013' spreadsheet. Started with an income tab rather than debts to remind myself of 'abundance' and how lucky I am to have a stable income. All in the mindset methinks
- Will be nice to properly count up all the little extras I make too (including gifts/selling junk/bday money etc) rather than just thinking about my salary. Should make about £23k after tax but aiming to make it up to £25k - nothing like a challenge :T Been using the reverse tax calculator here for a bit of an idea: http://www.uktaxcalculators.co.uk/reverse-tax-calculator.php
Happy weekend everyone

Hello :hello:
Today I'll be:
Doing a ten minute survey for £12.
Showing OH next month's budget so that OH understands how tight our budget is next month as we have to tax and MOT the car which is barely road-worthy and it's OH's birthday. And we need a shed if we are to be 50%-self-sufficient this year.
Checking all online accounts.

Well I really need to get a move on with the DFW issue, and love reading this thread as encourages me on the small things we can do.
Today was meant to be a NSD but my extra job was cancelled due to weather, and in return my DM has asked me to drive her and friend to concert as they wont drive that far, and they had tickets as a present. So they paying petrol but I will need to buy my dinner which I suggested we have there, and pay for my cinema ticket as going to watch a film I really want to see, so decided as I have been so good this month and more money in my jar than there normally is at the end of the month. :j
So far today:
* Turned heating off
* defrosted some chicken from the freezer and cooked some rice for dogs dinner, so much cheaper than the expensive food.
* Had the left over Chow Mein that I was treated to last night for breakfast.
* spent some time getting some ideas from this site.
To do today before I go out -
* Iron all the clothing I dried in front of Log Burner last night.
* Fill up log box so that I can work out when I need to order another ton bag.
*Give kitchen and living room a quick tidy.
* Put another load of washing on and hang on airer.
* doing my swagging
* have left over chinese for lunch
* hoover car out as taking DM and friend and its a bit doggy in my car (need to find a OS way of getting rid of the smell.)
* Need to look at some more ways of making money, need to look into the shop&scan.
Tomorrow I am going to spend the day working out budgets, targets etc for Feb, and organising freezer so I can see what I have to use up and sticking to using it up.
Oh sun come out may try putting washing out for a while to see if it will dry a bit outside.
APR NSD - 0/10
Paid off in 2013 so far £125.00
April Money made - £18.000 -
Hello to all and may I join you ladies on your fabulous post?
Today is all about keeping the focus and resting up. It has been a stressful week and under normal circumstances would have been the perfect excuse for shopping in my favorite shopping centre 30mls away! Naughty, naughty!.... = waste of petrol, cr.card maxed out and the inevitable 2x bottles of wine...more money wasted!
BUT the small DFW things on the list for today are...
1. :money: site visit
2. Full English Breakfast with cappuccino in "I love my Kitchen" with Pavarotti and yesterdays News Paper from Work
3. Eco wash x2 and hanging in airing cupboard
4. Off to friend for DVD night while I wait for DD2 to finish up at birthday party which saves on petrol. One round trip instead of two.
5.checked surveys, nothing going on at the moment. Must find a better site to join.
6. prepare meal and steamed pudding from freezer and groceries cupboard for tomorrow.Return and Restart August 2016
