  • So sorry i have been awol guys, think all the relief of getting my new job just caught up with me & i seemed to crash & burn, everything was hard work & i just didn't want to speak to anyone, but i'm back now!!

((((((((((((((((big hugs))))))))))))))) ModestyB - hope your pain eases soon
I have some good news though!! On Thursday I was offered a new job!!! A maternity cover teaching post, doing Year One at a lovely school about 30 minutes drive away. Very pleased with myself!

    Yay, great news flubbery!!!!!

Well i am ashamed to admit that i haven't had an NSD yet :o Not as bad as it sounds though, as they were all planned spends.
Friday i had to buy some new trousers for my new job, as when i was stressed & off sick i lost tons of weight & i've gone from a size 10 to a 6  I've managed with what i've got so far (mostly by tying my trousers to myself with my work belt scarecrow stylie), but i really don't want to start my new job looking like a scarecrow, so new trousers it was.
Then yesterday i had to go to ald1 & the big orange diy shop, didn't spend a lot, but needed bits i couldn't get anywhere else & today i nipped to d mill for a couple of bits.
Just couldn't do it all in one go, as all the shops i needed were on different sides of town & i walk everywhere as i'm too stubborn to pay the extortionate bus fare!! So i guess i don't feel too guilty & i have walked about 10 miles over the course of the weekend, so kept me fit too!!

Oh my goodness BDINI  that is some weight / size loss  Last time I did that was when I had an awful throat infection, couldn't swallow for a good week 1/2 (even water nearly resorted me to tears) and when I did start eating all i could manage was baby food - I could get my hands sideways in the pockets of jeans that had previously been snug. Wouldn't recommend it though  Not long until you start your new job eh? :j

Well I'm declaring NSD # 3  Best start I've had to a month for ages. Did get some food shopping in today but that was budgeted for from the house acc and I seemed to come in under budget - was even standing scratching my head when I was waiting for some certain reductions (ok, I fess - it was the reductions on the cooked chickens, which I shouldn't buy and should roast free range but this will do me for a good few meals :o ) looking at my half empty trolly thinking 'well I've got everything and more that was on my list, I just don't need anything else' ... first time that's ever happened

Also got a jacket for the hot water tank, and some window seal insulation (to replace what's there which I am sure is carp - or I might even see if I can place it next to what's there) from W!ckes, but these were also budgeted for from the house.

Do have a little list of some things I need later in the week (and must get my caterpillars done on Wed) but in danger of clocking up some more NSD before then at this rate

  • ModestyB, sorry to hear that. I have just looked up what it is and it does sound painful. I hope the new pills help to alleviate the pain.

BDINI, the last time I was a size 6 was about 25 years ago :( LOL at the scarecrow look, you might set a new trend :D

Well, a big:T:j:T to my b-i-l for allowing me to transfer the money I owe him tomorrow so I can declare today NSD 2 :D

Have lots of smallish amounts going out tomorrow, a couple of d/ds, Oyster card top-up, b-i-l and will need catfood as well. Hopefully on Tuesday I can restart with number 3.

Enjoy the rest of the evening.

The weekends go so quickly

Yippee! My NSD#1! I have also decided to draw out of the bank my budget for the month for my planned spends and see if I can do it all with cash. That way just the food shop and DD's come out of my bank account. I've never done it this way before so I wonder if I will be more frugal with my spends if I have to physically get the cash out of the jar!

That's what I do now - it certainly focuses the mind when you're handing over cold hard cash rather than a piece of plastic and reading numbers on a piece of paper.

Spend free weekend for me so that's NSD 2 & 3 for me.

Couldn't bag any reductions this week :( so will have to be a store cupboard/freezer raid this week.

The last time i was size 6 i was in kids clothes!! TBH Kerri i agree & don't recommend it at all, but for some reason i'm finding it really hard to put it back on.... i just don't feel that hungry anymore!!
(& i'm not sure walking so many miles helps either!!)

Trust me Candlewick, the scarecrow look will not catch on... every time i look in the mirror i think Worzel Gummidge!! (i'm showing my age now!)

Oh & meant to say Wildcherry i only work in cash these days for all my budgeted spends & it really does help, i know if i blow the budget my purse will be decidedly light all month!!
(Oh & i transfer any surplus money into an account without a card to stop me thinking "blow it" & whipping my debit card out if i fancy getting carried away!!)
