Well done MummyRivett. I bet there's going to be a lot of smiles at the end of this month :)

Hi Modesty. Have you tried using crystal therapy. When all else fails it might be worth a go.
Here's some info for you...Crystals for Fibromyalgia

Thank you so much Dizzy, I will certainly try this.

    Evening everyone:wave:

It looks as though you’ve all been busy nabbing those NSDs today, well done everyone,

    Welcome back to:

 muffin man 7 - good to see you back again, sorry to hear about the migraines. Good luck with your 10 NSDs and 5 in a row and yay to 2 NSDs already nabbed, that’s a brilliant start

Off the starting blocks with NSD no 1:

:j:j:jdonna d - that’s a great start, well done. Fingers crossed the car manages to keep going

:j:j:jETO - yay to a great start for you and brilliant news about the weekly budget, well done

:j:j:jgreenanne - well done, another great start. Keep planning ahead, that’s the way to nab those NSDs

:j:j:jIf - yippee to a great start for you, keep going. Love today’s funny

:j:j:jNargle - vroom indeed, another brilliant start. Hopefully lots more to follow swiftly behind

:j:j:jSazdaz - and fingers crossed for nos 2 and 3 Monday and Tuesday, you can do it!

:j:j:jsf - another great start, keep going now

Yay to a brilliant NSD no 2:

:j:j:jBaileys Babe - that’s a great start for you, keep going now

:j:j:jCandlewick - yay to lovely B-I-L and in rolls another NSD, that’s a great start for you

:j:j:jCheryl - you’re definitely on a roll now. Poor OH, were you deliberately trying to kill him off today.. he probably won’t be able to walk tomorrow!!:rotfl:

:j:j:jchris - you’ve got off to a great start as always, keep going now!

:j:j:jcoolcats - you’re doing great so far. Hopefully the NSDs will keep rolling in for you this month, fingers crossed

:j:j:jdaizyboo - you’re entitled to feel proud of yourself, that’s a great start, well done

:j:j:jemsloves - yay to another NSD in the bag, you’re doing brilliantly, keep going

:j:j:jJellyBiactol - that’s a great start for you, keep going now

:j:j:jJonesy88 - that’s a brilliant start for you well done. Re the Euros, I think most of us would class actually getting the Euros as the spend day as they’ve already come out of your account. If you count the days you physically spend them that would be two spend days for each Euro which doesn’t really make sense. Hope that helps?

:j:j:jModestyB - another great start for you. Hope DH enjoyed his birthday?

Woohoo to NSD no 3, you’re definitely on a roll:

:j:j:jbeanie - you’re definitely on a roll, keep going now. Hope you’re starting to feel a bit better now x

:j:j:jDragon - another one on a roll, that’s brilliant. Keep going now

:j:j:jkatholicos - that’s a brilliant start for you, well done. Let’s hope the rest of them are just as co-operative

:j:j:jkerri - yay to a brilliant start, keep going now

:j:j:jmarmite - you’re definitely on a roll, well done! Good news re your back, let’s hope it continues like that

:j:j:jMummyRivett - a flying start for you, that’s brilliant. You’re doing some great moneysaving, you’ll definitely have that overdraft paid off in no time. Love the pic, it takes me back too

:j:j:jOodNood - yay to a spend-free weekend, you’re off to a brilliant start. Keep going

    And hello to:

wildcherry - there’s plenty of time to nab the rest of those NSDs, don’t feel bad. Fingers crossed for no 2 tomorrow

BDINI - those were definitely necessary spends, we can’t have you starting a new job looking like Worzel Gummidge (I’m showing my age too!!). Nice to see you back, hope you’re feeling more like your normal self now and looking forward to a new start.

Spoony, thank you for your hugely welcome encouragement :)

    ...

It is all so easy/convenient to whip out the debit card to pay for things.

And that's the problem really. I want to make it harder to spend, to make every penny count. To really think about what i am buying, and wether i am getting good value for money. Not just mindlessly buy things, make impulse purchases etc.

I want my expenditures to be more streamlined and simplistic. O make sure the bills get paid, the food gets bought, and then maybe start thinking of allowing myself a budget each month, to make recreational type purchases. A the moment there is no budget and so,i just make purchases here and there, but with no budget i sometimes spend more than i should. I am not extravagant by any stretch of the imagination, but even my own relatively small spends could be further reigned in, especially the things that i don't actually need.
