    My apologies, OP.

But my advice on giving full information still stands. Your first post was nothing unusual. Had you mentioned the 17 messages, then the good folk here would have more to go on :)
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

I know I'll be attacked for saying so, but ebays policy of only allowing buyers to give neg FB doesn't help IMHO.

It would be fairer to allow both buyer & seller to give neg FB provided the member was not a business user (i.e. allow a seller to give a neg for every 10 items they buy?) too many unscrupulous ebay buyers use FB as a bargaining/blackmail point.
Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.

It was theonlywayisup who suggested the OP need to get a grip, with the OP quoting them actually. I think it couldn't hurt for some people to be nicer around here; yes they may not give the answer the OP wants but we have all had shocking buyers at one time or another and it can be very unpleasant if they get personal for no good reason.

OP you should see if you could get feedback removed, after all you did offer a reasonable solution. If not, just leave a factual follow up along the lines of 'Full refund offered upon return but not taken up'.

Yes, the OP needs to get a grip. A buyer wants a return and they are dodgy and a nightmare? That was my comment. Not personal, just factual.

I think it is ridiculous; having had my own 'buyer from hell' recently on a huge collection huge item, he payed by paypal (listing said cash on collection) and then did not respond for two months while I was having to store it in my living room - eventually i had to get my fees back and re-list, and refund right after xmas when I could least afford to do it.

I left no feedback but I did file a complaint with ebay, but now upon looking at his dodgy 'negative left as a positive' feedback, it really irked me as if sellers had been allowed to leave negs, like we could in the olden days of ebay (weren't they lovely! When the fees were reasonable too...) he would never have got to the point of buying my item as he would have been banned!

There really is no need to be as rude as you are being. Not personal, just factual.
  • There really is no need to be as rude as you are being. Not personal, just factual.

Rude? You need to read again. ;)

Factual yes, personal or rude, no.

Perhaps, if you are able, you could elaborate.
  • I think that telling someone to 'get a grip' is rude. Disputes can be upsetting, people come here for help and support, not to be told that their problems are trivial and they are overreacting.

Where did I say trivial and overreacting?

"Get a grip" - that was my exact quote. The seller said the buyer wanted a refund and was dodgy and a nightmare.

I am also not sure in the OP where a DISPUTE in mentioned?

Perhaps you should read the thread in chronological order and only read was is written! ;)

And with respect, perhaps you should also heed that advice. :T
  • Perhaps it would have been better to ask the op why they thought the buyer was a nightmare, rather than jump in with a judgement, telling them to get a grip...

To be fair the OP hadn't elaborated why the buyer was a nightmare (we found out later and frankly it was 'proved', in my opinion anyway, by the fact they didn't return goods but left a neg anyway).

However telling her to 'get a grip' was also wrong IMHO as she did indeed have a grip and the result was she got an unfair neg (IMHO).
Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
