Under no circumstances refund without the return.
Do not get emotional about it, or enter heated arguments. Just send one more message saying 'please return, when I will give a full refund.'
Do not at this stage mention paying return postage. If you are a private seller you are not obliged to do so, bur may want to refund this postage as a goodwill gesture. If you are a business seller, you should already know your legal obligations.
If the buyer opens a case against you, e-bay will tell her to return for a refund. If she continues to message you without opening a case, just reply with the one sentence above i.e Please return for a full refund.0 -
agree with above - if the buyer opens a dispute, then because you have already offered a refund on return they will then be told by ebay to return the item recorded delivery for a refund - they will also be told at this stage that the return postage will be payable by themselves. The money in paypay will be withheld if they open a dispute so just make sure you leave that amount in there for now.0

Nightmare buyer? Seems dodgy?
You need to get a grip. Buyer wants a return. Ok, perhaps she doesn't realise she will get her refund when she returns, but that hardly makes her a nightmare or dodgy.
Put her mind at rest, tell her that she can have a refund of the full original amount she paid once she has returned the item to you. If you then find it is faulty, you will reimburse her the postage to return it.0 -
If she leaves Negative Feedback without returning or opening a case you could contact eBay with the messages they sent you and say they refused to comply for a refund! This could get eBay to review the feedback and would more than likely go in your favour.0

You are very welcome.
Glad she left appropriate feedback.0 -
what does her feedback sayNeeding to lose weight start date 26 December 2011 current loss 60 pound Down. Lots more to go to get into my size 6 jeans0

Let me get this straight: the buyer left neg feedback but refused to send back the goods she claimed were used despite the fact she'd have then had a full refund for those goods.
I know who I believe frankly.
If the buyer had been fair they'd have sent the goods back if they then wanted to 'neg' that's fair enough: by not wanting to return 'used' makeup I think I'd side with the seller in this instance.
Appropriate feedback? my a**e.Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
If you don't like my opinion feel free to respond with your own.0 -
"get a grip"?
Perhaps next time you start a thread, give all the information first. theonlywayisup was perfectly correct in their post with the limited information given in the OP.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

It was theonlywayisup who suggested the OP need to get a grip, with the OP quoting them actually. I think it couldn't hurt for some people to be nicer around here; yes they may not give the answer the OP wants but we have all had shocking buyers at one time or another and it can be very unpleasant if they get personal for no good reason.
OP you should see if you could get feedback removed, after all you did offer a reasonable solution. If not, just leave a factual follow up along the lines of 'Full refund offered upon return but not taken up'.0
