Mand Beckett most certainaly does work for Plusnet as she posts regularly in their own forums.
Maybe there is a clue in the email address mbeckett@plus.net that she has provided.0 -
may have a plus net mail address, but does not mean she works there. I know someone who has had an email address for a major financial institution b4 and they did not/ nor ever did work there.

Heather
she's only asked your user name not your password or anything.
My experience with plusnet is fairly good - I've had a couple of problems & had to get fairly stroppy but then they sorted it. Not sure that happens with all ISPs0 -
I'm a Force9 customer who are joined with PlusNet. It's unfair of you to say they are bad. The Terms and Conditions are there so that they can provide the cheapest possible service to all. At £9.99 for a 1Gb basic connection, and 14.99 for a standard I think it's pretty good. In this instance it didn't work out out for you, because you decided to leave within 12 months of a service provision. All ISP's have to pay BT up to £70 for connecting a new user whether that's when you join or when you move house. So they need to recover this charge, and it's made perfectly clear when you sign up. If happy customers had to fund those who decided to go elsewhere the charges would need to be a lot higher. You wouldn't get a free mobile phone and then a few months later stop paying your contract now would you. We all understand a 12 month contract means exactly that.0

all very interesting, I did not sign the contract, it was a gift for me by my brother, so I was unaware of the terms and conditions, I did not stop my account from them lightly, but I always had problems accessing. Helpine were rude more often than not. Download speed was never that hot. Sometimes full facts are needed b4 commenting on other people complaints. This is an open forum, and although I realise some people may be happ with plusnets service, I most definitely was not (as were many other users that have left their service!!!Piggy Points (started 27/04/07) 2115

Heather, you're definately not alone. I'm one of those many other people who have left Plusnet in recent times. I was with them for nearly 2 years and a lot of other long time customers have looked for greener pastures, especially since the early year speeds fiasco when the lack of bandwidth caught up with Plusnet and customer connections speeds went down to dial-up levels!
Plusnet were great 2 years ago when they offered unthrottled connections but ever since they introduced their traffic shaping, they've gone downhill. Plusnet has abused the traffic shapping to save money on bandwith by squeezing as many customers as possible into their few central pipes, but there's only so much squeezing you can do before people realise their supposed 8 Meg connection is nothing but and the whole strategy explodes in your face. People ain't stupid.
There's a Plusnet ex-customer who's keeping an excellent blog on Plusnet called Plusnet: The Truth. That's an accurate account on what Plusnet has been and is currently like. The true cost of something is what you give up to get it.0 -
i am pleased I am not alone, after the last postee I thought i was off cue....
