My guess (or hope) is it will be relaunched at 6%
It always used to be same as the HSBC Reg saver rate for their Premier customers. HSBC Premier customers used to get 8% on regular savings but it dropped to 6% some time ago. I can't see them dropping it to 4% as this is the same as HSBC's ordinary bank account reg saver rate and the FD brand always beats these rates. Discuss
  • Bummer mine matures on the 5th April, got no chance of getting another one now at 8%

How do you know that is what they are doing? Not that its a problem anyway.

All self righteous again I see. Read this thread by Mr MSE himself.

Not sure what the link is about in this context - it's talking about married couples. In this country, that involves 2 people.

Nine_Lives was talking about 3 FD Regular Savers he opened recently. So he is either married illegally to more than one person, or he has opened bank accounts in other people's names and broken the T&Cs.

You may or may not know that Nine_Lives has previously posted about running other people's accounts (usually his wider family). The fact remains that it is against the T&Cs of any bank to open and operate someone else's bank account without power of attorney.
  • Is it gone already then

When you apply for a 1st account it only offers those 2 ordinary savings accounts, I chose the Everyday e-Saver to waive the monthly fee
Once you have opened a 1st account then you can apply for the Regular Saver

We have a joint bank account with FD but only one Regular Saver (which mature son 4th February - grrrr). Does anyone know if we can open a second RS in my wife's name?

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.

I'm interested in this but have a couple of questions.

Has anyone, not banking with HSBC and being a new customer to FD, successfully opened an account all done electronically?

When you have your monthly salary credit the account to satisfy their £1500, can you just move it out straight away?

Does it need another account to avoid the fee, I thought that was linked to money paid in

It gave me a sort and ac no. for the current account but I need to wait for a posted username and password to setup the 8% ac I think.
Wonder if I will get that before 31st
