Could I ask a couple of questions about SKY

Yes, the full package with Sky is rather expensive, almost £85 a month. I dropped the sports and movies to save £30 a month, but have everything else. One good offer from Sky at the moment is if you have your line rental with them and are willing to commit to a 12 month contract then you can pay upfront for the line rental and save over £50 on the normal monthly payment total. This offer is for new and existing customers but you have to ring up to get the deal.Mortgage 1 Oct 11 - £118k @ 1.29%(BR+0.79) July 14 £118k

Im in the same situation - having just bought a new Smart tv with HD and 3d, I want to make the most of it. I was told by the online rep to get the SKY entertainment extra package but just looking at the conversation transcript, I did ask her to allow for HD but she hasnt so that will be an extra "£10.50. However, it does give the programmes we would wan, like Sky Atlantic and the nature and history programmes. , free sat doesnt have much more than freeview does it?
They also offered me the half price sub for 6 months, free boxand installation plus £100 M and S voucher. I wonder if going through topcashback would give an extra lot of cash back or whether that would not be allowed.
You're looking at about £35 per month to get the basic Sky TV package (no Sports, no movies) in HD. Given what you have said about your existing broadband, PVR etc You may find it better value to treat yourself to a Blu Ray whenever something comes out that you really want to watch. It's also worth pointing out that Sky HD isn't actually Full HD, it's 1080i rather than 1080p, whereas Blu Rays are full HD.Mortgage 1 Oct 11 - £118k @ 1.29%(BR+0.79) July 14 £118k

Thanks, Ive signed up for the entertainment extra package plus HD at £36 a month. Im getting £100 M and S vouchers and £126 cashback from TopCashback (it tracked in half an hour!). Hopefully its the right thing for us. They offered installation for this Saturday.
Jimmy - you cant use the £75 discount if you get the cashback.0 -
