only the other Pc needs the code, you need to type their code in your "join" panel box..the green button, they need the "host" button"
Yes I got their code and put it in the green box then hit connect. Then waited ages

The code does change each time they run it. See if they can connect to you.

Are they clicking on the host tab and clicking connect at the same time? It should come up, "waiting for a connection" at their end, and have a 2 minute countdown timer.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

    any joy?.......
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • Unfortunately not, it connects to the server but then says "waiting for connection" and hangs there. I left it for almost 30 mins at one point and tried it both ways getting them to enter my access number. :o Zonealarm did ask to allow access to crossloop so it can't be that

I'll try it again tomorrow with my firewall disabled then with both disabled and see what that throws up... thanks for your continued help I appreciate it :)
  • Another vote for logmein from me, it really is very easy to install and use.

Yep logmein is great product - a real improvement on the VNC software I used to use. Required no messing with my router is much better than Window remote desktop and also works on WM5 devices.

It is claimed to be vista compatible although I can't vouch for it myself.

If it's not compatible with vista then it's of no use to me!

I've emailed crossloop so am waiting to hear back from them :)

It's website claims vista compatibilty although I have only used it with XP and WM5. I have no reason to believe it will not work. In fact i will install on a Vista machine tonight and access it remotely using an XP machine to check.

You could have it running before the email comes back from crossloop - it only takes 5 mins to set it up
