  • You signed up for a contract - next time you should read what you're signing up to so you know how long you have to have the product.

    Why were you disappointed?
  • hi i was lied to 5 times by their sales people and one of them said that i had 12 days cooling off period on the day of completion but of course they cant find the tape recording i always thought that when you bought something you always had a cooling off period

I reckon you have minimum of 7 statuary days cooling off period. Some companies offer longer, but I wouldn't bank on the 12 days. Get an E - mail off to them straight away or send a recorded delivery letter saying you have decided to cancel. You will need to return any equipment they have sent out.

So long as they receive written notice within the 7 days they can't charge you anything.

    good luck

What was wrong with their product, they are a BT group, business selling rebadged BT product.

Plusnet are owned by BT but operate as a separate, better-run company.
  • the broadband service was very slow and the download limit was too small for the speed of the service not to mention the poor customer service very dissapointed

You need to let them run line speed checks to get decent constant speed at the start, this can take several days as they adjust, and they recommend that things like routers are left on as well.

The download limit is something you decided on. Not plusnet, you signed up for the service, they will have also given you a suggested line speed as well, however they cannot say for certain if you will get the highest they suggest until they actually run it on the line.

So what of the broadband service is so slow? What are you doing where the speed is causing problems? Have you had your line checked to make sure it's working properly?
What download limit did you agree to?
What as the speed of the line prior to the switch over to Plus net?

Most of your reasons seem to be more user error/regret of getting it, so honestly them charging you only £90 seems light, where as they could charge the rest of the full contract (unless that is the full contract price)

The cooling off period runs from ordering, to when the service is installed. Once up and running, there is no provision to cancel as be work has already been done. I is then seen as an early cancellation and the termination fees apply.
