My mother told me to ignore the letters..

You should listen to your mother.
    It is a stupidity scam.
They dish out invoices that the stupid confuse with parking fines and the stupid pay them their hard earned money.
They sit back and pee themselves laughing that they have the fortune to live in a country with so many stupid fools who can not spot a scam.
    Be happy...;)
  • I wouldn't call them "stupid" for paying up,they are after all "newbies" and like the majority of posters on here we were unaware of the rules and law etc regarding these PPCs untill "we" became the informed who are now informing newbies.
Now we have three more on board who will no doubt spread the news to all and sundry and make sure that there are as least people as possible being scammed and convert the "stupid" into informers! Go forth and multiply the uninformed
  • Thanks.. Don't think I've fell for their scam.. happy to continue to ignore them... just when you see more letters coming, it does start to worry you.

I would. The newbies who come here are not in that category. They had the sense to do a little research before shelling out money just because someone wrote them a letter. They are the sensible, and now educated ones.

I would also call most people stupid for paying a fake parking ticket, when there is so much info available online. Come on, wise up people! :p

The only ones I would not call stupid would be the elderly who may not have a PC and also have it indoctrinated in their minds to pay bills (a good thing) but sadly fall for scams (a bad thing!).

The problem is, people don't necessarily think to research the validity of a ticket, if they have no clue that it isn't valid. Let's hope that threads like this help spread the word and educate people (as they did me).

I found another avenue to spread the word locally via Streetlife.com. Started a subject re local PE and Norfolk Parking Enforcement and its been read lots and quite a few comments thanking me. Though I do say to them to look here on MSE and on pepipoo where the real 'experts' are. :)

Would love to do fliers about this and put them on all cars in Aldi car park, lol!

According to customer services, Aldi customers do not actually have 2 hours of parking if they shope there. It is officially only free whilst you are actually in their shop. Unfortunately for them, their signage says differently. What a shower!

Easy to print out some of these:

I carry them around in my handbag and tuck them behind a fake ticket if I see one in a Supermarket car park. Hope it has helped someone.
