Asking advice for my nephew

My nephew is 24 and is claiming jobseeker's allowance (not sure if its income or contributions based).

He currently lives at home with his parents and is not happy.

He wants his own place; what help is he entitled to?

    Thanks.

  • I'm struggling with this thread. However assuming this is genuine then I fail to see really what it has to do with the OP.
She really needs to let her brother and his wife and nephew sort it out between them, it really is of no consequence to her, unless I'm missing something? If the OP gets involved it has the potential to split the family and end in tears, unless of course the child really does want to move out and the aunt is helping him?
Frankly I think it is really down to the parents what they are prepared to do/not do/put up with etc.

  • I personally don't think he should move out unless he can pay his own way.

Eastbourne Borough Council let out their beach huts. Perhaps you could rent one? Not sure if you get Local Housing Allowance for them though. :D:rotfl:
I should call them and ask. I think they would love to start the work week with a call from this crazy American asking about housing allowance for a beach hut.
