Delighted to confirm July was totally alcohol free, my fourth consecutive month of abstainance.
Might as well also declare 1 AFD for August but very much looking forward to savouring a few drinks tomorrow evening.0 -
Tonight is being a test of my willpower. I really really want a glass of red. I don't know if it will win. I've looked at it and poured a coke but I know it's there. If my husband comes in and lifts a beer it'll be game over.
Edit. 9.30. Game over.Battling booze, bulge and bills.

Good news from my brother, the cancer originated in tonsils, so removing them was the right thing to do. He will need another operation to remove lumps in lymph nodes, then 6 months of chemo/radiotherapy, but consultant declared that it was curable! What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Satchmo, that is such good news, what a relief for you all. I know that the operations and chemo won't be easy but he has a light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm declaring the 1st of August as my first AF day for ages. I feel very good about it because we went to a friends house for a drinnk and I had water and then to a party and I had coke. I was greatly motivated by stepping on the scales and realising that I have put on 4 kilos whilst on holidays. So my diet is going to be clean and green from now on.
Glad to be back home in a way - it's lovely to be on holiday but it's also lovely to be back to normal!Trying to keep in budget.

Satchmo1, that's good news
Hope it all goes well for your brother from now on
Ohwhatamess, it's not 'game over'. Okay, so you had a drink when you promised yourself you wouldn't, but we've all done that (and looking through the forum, the majority of us still do!). Setting a goal is the first step0 -
1/26 AFDs today0

Declaring my first for August.
That's very encouraging news satchmo, so pleased for you and your brother.
Do savour those drinks tomorrow Boss, you're control is amazing.
ohwhatamess, don't worry you can try again. Does husband know what you're trying to achieve?
1 AFD please Shaggy.0 -
2/26 AFDs for me :-)0

2 AFDs for me. I know today isn't completely over, but I'm off to bed early and there's no alcohol here.0

Another AF night here, which I'm quite surprised about as I had thought that I would be craving a drink! I think it's partly because it's so hot here I have no real desire to drink anything except water!Trying to keep in budget.
