Everyone Welcome!
Please highlight your AFDs in Red
Don't hesitate to let me know if I've got your AFDs wrong!!!!!What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

5/27 AFDs for me, which wouldn't have been the case if there had been any wine in the house last night. Had a phone call from one of my brothers to say he has cancer. He is having a tonsillectomy on 29 July (earlier if there's a cancellation slot) and will know two weeks afterwards where it originates from, which will determine treatment. Apparently it isn't lymphoma, but is in his throat.
I'm worried about the effect this news will have on mum, who is already frail, and has had to deal with a husband and daughter dying from cancer. Am I wrong in wondering whether it would be better if he didn't tell mum yet? Why not wait until he has the results, which will be mid-August? Any advice on how to ask him not to tell yet? What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
5 SNCs and 5 AFDs after last night.0

Poor you satchmo. Have a virtual hug.:)
Personally I'd not tell your mum until there's something definite to tell. You can't stop yourself worrying from now until August but you can save your mum from it.0 -
6 AFDs today0

Thanks for the hug, Maman, it was needed. The matter was out of my hands, as my brother did ring mum. Fortunately, he was much clearer when he told mum. Also, good news, his appointment has been moved up from 29th July to 8th July because of a cancellation. More news today is that brother has had the burden since May.
6/27 AFDs. Spent a lovely few hours out in the glorious sunshine with DH, watching a local carnival this afternoon. Much needed R&R for us both. This evening went to mass, and may even go again in the morning. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Hi everyone lots of hugs to all who need them.
Went to church last night and was quite surprised to find that I felt very peaceful and comforted. Last few months have felt ultra-sensitive and paranoid. Today is the first day in weeks where I have woken up feeling positive and energised. I am so grateful for this whatever the reason is.
After having 3 bottles of Carling Cider 6.9 units in total the rest of the week was terrible, panic and anxiety attacks, suicidal thoughts, crying, withdrawing from the world, self pity and loathing. Thought I would never feel better but today, hey-hey I can't believe it.
It is either because not had a drink for 5 days as I am on 200mg sertraline too, or because I talked to a few people last night and slept really well as a result. 5 AF days.
Satchmo good luck with your brother's tonsillectomy and biopsies tomorrow. I really hope that the problem will be identified and sorted in the quickest and most efficient way possible and that his voice and throat will not be too painful because I had a tonsillectomy when I was 28 and it was so painful. Only thing that really helped but not totally was I think it was Solpadol but the high strength. But the pain is unbearable and make sure he is well hydrated no alcohol as it is like swallowing razor blades for 3 weeks. I will be thinking of you and can relate to throat problems lasting nearly 40 years and still have no answers.

2 more AFds for me. I discovered last night that Be Good Cranberry and Lime is a lovely AF drink. Not too sweet. It's usually around £2.30 a bottle, but Asda have it at 2 for £3 at the mo, so DH is going to get a few bottles of it for me today.
41 and i know it - A quick google brought up http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a697048.html and it seem to describe more or less exactly what you've been going through. Hopefully side effects is all it was and they've worn off now. You know you're 41 but perhaps the pills think you are still a teenager
Maybe the nice weather is also having an effect. I'm presuming you're having the same lovely sunshine as I am. I lived in Llanelli for about a year, over 20 years ago, and whenever I phoned my mum in Southampton we were always having exactly the same weather!0 -
Had champagne in the garden last night with OH after successfully avoiding alcohol at a gorgeous lunch out on the coast on a balcony overlooking the sea!
Another AF night tonight including what could have been a boozy BBQ! 6 AF so far this month!
Have a good week all!
