Declaring 28/31AFDs for me, so 3 days short of my target for March. DH brought in a bottle of wine on Saturday, and I didn't have the willpower to resist. I have asked him not to buy any. He said he thought he was "doing me a favour".
It really isn't a treat any more, it's a poison. I couldn't sleep in the night, and so slept in and missed 9am mass. I did go to a later service at another church, but it's not the same as going to "my" church.
Ate half my Easter egg when I got back from church, it tasted so good after giving up sweets during Lent.
We went out for a long walk this afternoon, over 4 miles, which helped me feel better. Then we couldn't be bothered to cook, so had take away pizza. Hardly MSE, but I can't remember the last time we ordered takeaway (certainly not this year).
Watching Foyles War now. Love that programme. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -

I wish I could help you, from past experience I know that you will feel like you do for what seems like eternity and then one day it doesnt hurt so bad. It will take however long it needs, and it is different for everyone. You are doing better than you think, you are getting out of bed, and are talking about it, even if it is here, it is a safe place and we have all felt bad at times, for different reasons, you deserve to be happy and I really want you to feel better soon. By the way, it goes to show how loving a person you are by the hurt you are feeling, as you have obviously invested a lot in this relationship. Please look after yourself, get in touch with your feelings and take time to heal. I really wish you comfort and please dont be hard on yourself, it is heartbreaking when a relationship doesnt work out, I have messed so many up and been hurt so many times, I never thought I would feel better but if I could go back to that time, I would totally understand why I felt so bad. Hugs to you and your little ones, please look after yourself, Tina xxx
Thank you 41, I appreciate that post, its makes sense to me and justifies how i feel. I feel i should be past this level of grief and hurt, but i'm not, so its simply going to take longer
I am sorry your are the voice of experience though. May I ask why you are not allowed to get close to people again?
I loved your post about alcohol being a poison, I actually found that quite motivating too.Live for the moment and plan for the future0 -

ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
