still going really pete tong for me. i not even gonna work out how much i spent.

although i think hubby must know. as he said to me other day about how i seemed to not be making many home cooked goodies. and ( he don't care what i spend) but he said do i really want to be spending £400-£600 on food when i can do it for £200 still eat really well and then i have £200-£400 a month to spend on clothes , bits for house , garden things , cheap holiday to devon. so that got me thinking.

i am going to try so hard next month.:T hubby says i need to only do online shop's. but my prob is i love food shopping. so i think if i do go to a supermarket i'll just take cash.and i will do it. i did before and no reason why i can't now.:A u can hear the determination in my voice. but then the little devil in my head. lol. but i will do it. the thought of up to £400 a month spare and it only cost us £140 to go away last year has really made me think

bu news month starts for me on 23rd may. so will muddle through then using what i have in cupaboards. which shouldn't be too hard. i have 2 freezers full , and every cupboard is crammed. :j

for some reason i been popping to iceland to buy milk as it only £1 for 1 pint's. and i think oh for £25 they will deliver says me putting 5X4 cartons under buggy . so i spend £25 . when i only need to spend £5. i have got some many bags of peas and sweetcorn in freezer now.:rotfl:

For those who started on the 1st May, you do realise it's a 5 week month this month?

I,m off to a good start, but not going to keep a tally just yet. As of last night I made a lovely batch of Carrot and Coriander soup, first time venture, and it,s now bagged and in the freezer (had a bowl for lunch). Also one of the carrots was rotten inside, took it back down to Asda and got three in exchange, felt a bit mean there, but hey one carrot short of a picnic I was. lol. Also got a load of whoopsies, and really nice things they are too. Fresh chicken fillets coated with lime and chilli, enough for at least three good meals for me, all separated in the freezer, minted lamb chops, same deal, fresh prawn 350grms for 97p. A breakfast pack, large, parsnips for another 1st edition soup, curried parsnip soup. got a few other things too bill was,£13odd, used my £4.00 luncheon vouchers from Pinecone for 1 survey and a £1.09 moc, final bill £8.49 lovely stuff

    :(

    I'm absolutely useless at this!

As you can see from my signature, I've blown a lot of my budget in the first half of the month.

However, I do now have a very well stocked freezer, fridge and store cupboard and I really do need to buckle down and start planning things more rather than flying by the seat of my pants. :o

When I get a chance later on this evening
I'm going to read through some more of these threads properly to give me the kick up the backside I need to actually succeed this month.

For those of you mostly spent up you might find this thread inspiring...

    Store Cupboard Challenge

And... if you use the various recipe collections and the cooking section of the MEGA Index, and have a go at the (admittedly poor) search facility - you'll be able to find recipe suggestions for just about anything that you have in your pantry, fridge or freezer.

    He sez :)

From where I'm sitting (see my signature below :( ) you're doing astonishingly well!! Don't be so hard on yourself. And there's still a fair chance you're going to come in within budget I'd say...
