2nd shop of the month done today at Mr T's - came in at £89.24!!!!
Tonight, I'm actually sitting down and going through my last few Mr T receipts to see exactly what I'm spending and on what.....then will try to cut back next time..buying cheaper options etc. I have enough nappies, wipes, washing powder etc to last me the rest of the month, so no MAJOR expenses, but I know where I need to cut down really....kids treats....I'm hoping that when I work out the full amount I'm spending, it'll really encourage me to cut back!!!:o
Hope everyone else has a good bank holiday weekend!!:j We're under house arrest at the moment due to DS1 and DD having chicken pox!!! DS2 had it 2 3 weeks ago!! Going to Tesco was my one fun outing this week!!!!!:rolleyes:20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

Oh chicken pox, yikes, nasty thing, DS2 has had it 3 times.
Have you tried making treats for the kids instead of buying ? Oldest might enjoy helping too.
I did that before, went through the list with a pencil and crossed off what I didn't NEED then added up what it cost, scared me enough to stop me!One day I might be more organised...........

I need to cut down my shopping too but it's sooo tempting when they give you those little tickets for extra points when you buy certain items!!
I know that I should only buy if I intend to use it - but let's face it - they look at my shopping record and choose something that I've bought before so there is always a chance that i will buy it again!
Never mind - the extra points will all help pay for my holiday again next year - Tesco Clubcard points have paid for my holiday in Cornwall every year for the last three years...going again in July :-)
That's my way of justifying myself when I go over my budget! (£300pm for two adults, two kids and two dogs...oh...and the invisible person who raids my 'pack-ups only' shelf when I'm not looking!)TescoMum :-)
Always Ask Yourself...Do I Really Need It?
If Not then Sell It!
Even Better - Don't buy it in the First Place :-)0 -
I have just finished week 2 of my month & so far have spent £153.02 but freezer is now full so hopefully that will last untill end of month so just my veg box(about £10.00 per week) and milk etc to get with my remaining budget-maybe there's hope after all!0

Hi All
I'm signing up for May's grocery challenge (& unnecessary challenge) as I really need a kick! My "budgets" :rotfl: have been totally out of control for most of this year as I've not long moved house, & I need to get a grip!
So - I've decided that for 2 adults & 2 children I don't need to spend more than £25 each week on food! I'm not including school dinners or cleaning stuff in this budget as I have bulk bought last month & dinners are paid until the end of the year. I guess to stand any chance of hitting this budget I'm going to need to be organised & actually cook rather than eat cereal!
Cooking & organisation are my two weakest points.... Interesting times lie ahead, I feel  so here goes...& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

Did a Tesco online shop early this morning (owe my parents money as it doesn't take my card  ). It came to £44 including delivery (found a £10 evoucher on here that worked a charm as it was £54 so that's brilliant :j. £39.02 was on food so that's what I'm going to take away from what I had left). It comes on wednesday as that's when we will need the food. I'm very pleased with the cost as I got alot of stuff for me and my boyfriend and it will last long enough (2-3 weeks for him. 2 weeks for me for fresh and about a month for the other stuff). I've worked out that there is enough food for my mice for the rest of the month at least so I didn't have to get anything for them. They aren't exspencive mind as I give them my own home made mix (costs about £1 a month to do) :T .
I now have £33.23 left for food budget (if I get everything on my list for online that is). That should cover my boyfriends meat from the butcher for the month and the top up of veg, fruit and anything else we need for the rest of the month.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
I didn't plan to go shopping this weekend
But then I forgot to take the Lamb out of the freezer last night after offering to cook for my parents, and had to do a quick shop to Tesco for a cook in the foil chicken joint thingy.
I came out £28.94 lighter
I did buy with this £17.77 of meat reduced to £7.71 to freeze, and some goats cheese and crackers (cashews and pistachios for DH and my Dad) as a treat for tonight after a long weekend decorating decorating
But still... that was a bit stupid of me and scary spending. All because I didn't take the meat out of the freezer last night. That taught me a lesson.

Shortie, the reduced stuff will save you over the rest of the month, wouldn't worry about it. Better reductions than we get
lucky if we get a £1 off.
One day I might be more organised...........
