  • Good luck The cleaning guy, make sure you give an update (when or if you get a reply).
The best thing you can do at work is join a Trade Union.

Just read SarEl's suggested response, what else but :T:T:T

I would love to see the (ex) employers face! Hilarious!!! :D
I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.
  • SarEl has done me/us proud, I am truly so pleased.
I am entering the required information before I post it! Cant wait.

Thank you for all your help and advice, and above all for pointing me in the direction of SarEl!

    Nice one SarEL!

Only thought on my mind is what happens if the guy sees it online?

I can't imagine that it would matter. The OP has done what anybody else shoould do, and seek advice.

From what I've read, the employer is the one in the wrong and tried to be clever with the aid of Google. I also want to see the employer's face when they read the prepared letter. :D

Great letter from SarEl, a vindictive employer certainly brings out the best in her especially one who does not know what they're talking about.

I hate to imagine how much the advice and letter would have normally cost the cleaning guy (Perhaps Lazydaisy could give us a ball park figure). Nice that CG is donating to SarEl's favoured charity.

Typing up that letter / reply without the thought that went into it would have taken a considerable time, MSE have lost a very valued poster.

    Good point!

It's certainly a wonderful reply SarEL has written and I hope the employer really gets a good roasting (and legal papers served against him). There are far too many rogue employers out there trying to screw people over (I've worked for loads of them).
  • What an awesome letter from SarEl! Loved it :)

SarEl has the bit between her teeth and has come to his rescue...

Thecleaningguy SarEl is an Employment Barrister so your exemployer will not know what hit him when she gives drafts the letter.

SarEl used to post on here but a very very small minority of ignorant posters did not appreciate the good thing we had an MSE.

I miss SarEl, wish she'd come back :(
