Flex Direct nationwide account

I think the problem is that not many people have signed up for the Flexi-direct. It has one positive and lots of negatives.
Now if the interest was 3%, I might be tempted.
Then again, with 7 current accounts giving me at least 3%, maybe I already have enough.0 -

The banks get 6% 8% 10% 12% off us customers and we get to shove 2500-5000 limit into a sh*ty 3% account which is lets face it even with 7 accounts its hardly raining coin is it...
The banks get richer as do the CEOs and the rest of the suits while customers chuck their life savings into savings accounts to earn £500-£1000 a year which most people earn in a week.
Its a disgrace yet we still feed them like little pets.0 -
Would you get European travel insurance, with the cover Nationwide offer, for a fiver?
Spent long weekend at a friends and the travel insurance cost £5
Holidays are outside Europe. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The FlexAccount and new FlexDirect are both mediocre. The latter lacks branch access and has a fee if you forget/can't deposit 1K each month - not very mutual.
FlexDirect does give branch access.
You may be getting confused with the fact that transactions that can be done by another method (e.g. a cash withdrawal of under £300, which can be done at an ATM), can't be done at the counter.
Other than this, you can use the branch for anything you like.0 -
How will it become competitive?0

Might as well, yeah.0

I already have a FlexAccount but cant see any benefit at all of 'upgrading' to the FlexDirect nor do I see how it will suddenly become competitive? And can we jump on the bandwaggon later, or should we sign up now? (assume we are Flexaccount customers already)
Edit: I think you were being ironic?0 -
