Flex Direct nationwide account

If its a FlexAccount your talking about - no I don't as I ditched it when they started charging for overseas use and e-savings rates dived.
The FlexAccount and new FlexDirect are both mediocre. The latter lacks branch access and has a fee if you forget/can't deposit 1K each month - not very mutual.BugsyBrowne wrote: »But you've a Flexi-account.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. When was that - surely a few years back?I've had a Flex Account for about 12 years and the only time I've ever wondered into a branch (or spoke to anyone there) is to setup the 4.25% ISA, and that was just grab a form, fill it in, hand it to the receptionist and walk out.

so what do you want from a current account then? Most providers charge for overseas usage except Nationwide's is lower. You also get the free travel insurance and access to some decent savings rates occasionally like the 4.25% ISA and the 6% regular saver last year.
If you don't like them move somewhere else.0 -
I have already moved elsewhere as 'I ditched it' was meant meant to imply.
I agree you get a the occasional sweetener from Nationwide now but in the past their FlexAccount and e-savings were always very competitive.
Their annual European travel insurance would be worth about £5 to me.so what do you want from a current account then? Most providers charge for overseas usage except Nationwide's is lower. Would you get European travel insurance, with the cover Nationwide offer, for a fiver?
I am with Rich1976 - the Reg Saver and the ISA last year were worth it for me to cycle at least £750 a month through a Flexaccount. Also, we can deposit another £5,670 into existing 4.25% ISAs on April 6 - I think it would be fair to say this will almost certainly be the market leader by some margin.
I found it worth it even if they didn't come up with any further Flexclusives, but hopefully they will. E.g. come October 31, when the bonus on the 4.25% ISA ends....0 -
I've got a Flexaccount but only for the linked 6% regular saver account . Need to pay in £750 p/m which I do from my main current account and pay one Direct Debit and a couple of Standing Orders. I like the online service...not sure if the linked regular saver offer is still on though...SPC Member #112 :A Save £2k in 2014 # 160 :money:0

I was hoping posters would share their experience about the Flexi-direct and NOT the Flexi-account.0

I don't have any experience with the Flex Direct - - took one look at it and couldn't see the advantage over my Flexaccount. I never keep enough money in Nationwide to make it worth the interest, and since it drops to zero anyway, I prefer to keep my cash in Lloyds/Santander.0
