I posted the other day about the hypnotist that I have seen and what he was saying about the gastric band hypnosis. Since then I have read more of what people are saying and its amazing the results that people are having so although I said the blog post he wrote was interesting im not sure how relevant it is any more! anyway he says that the thing is that you are not really looking at the deeper problems with eating so it may wear off. If you want to have a read just go to his website and click on blogs and I think its the second one down...his name is mark powlett so if you google him you can also read a transcript of the paul mckenna interview on bbc breakfast too
im thinking i may well try paul mckennas book myself now!0 -
The hypnosis for the gastric band is not ALL there is to it, just as important and more so are 'the golden rules' that are in the book.
These deal with most underlying problems around food, the gastric band just helps to stick to that.Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.

He claims this ONLY works if you can do this very religiously, put tv off, sit at a table to eat, put knife and fork down between mouthfuls, only eat when hungry but not starving, stop eating when slightly full not bloated, chew the mouthfuls 20 times and do not speak to anyone when eating because you need to concentrate fully on the brain receiving the signal that your stomach is full, overweight people have long since tuned out to the signal/chemical that is released.
I picked up the book for £7 at asda !
When I went in to buy my full fat cheese, a pizza, a cake, some butter, LOLOL....

Anyway day five for me .Haven't weighed myself but finding I was eating a bit more at dinner last night. Think it will be a cd day today but kept off all snacks.0 -
Hello everyone!
I'm on day 6 today- so far so good. I listened to the disc each night (but forgot last night). I am eating far less than usual.
I have a coffee for breakfast a piece of fruit at about 12, a cuppa soup and 2 slices of bread at 1.30 then homemade soup and a slice of bread at 6pm. I do drink too much coffee though. One benefit of this 'diet' is that I don'y think of food 24hrs a day.
I didn't weigh myself on the first day because I was too embarrassed, but I have today, so not sure if I've lost anything. ... but I have about 3 stone to loseJuly Win: Nokia 58000 -
I have ordered the book and can't wait. Will let you know how I get on!0

Bought this in Asda at the weekend (£7) and have read the book but haven't had any time to myself yet so will do the CD and DVD stuff this weekend.
Interested to read that so many people are having success, was kind of expecting to see it rubbished - I'm a bit of a sceptic but hope to be proved wrong.
I've lost 2.5 st with Slimming World so far but have really lost my mojo so need a bit of oomph to keep on track, and thinking that if this works it will be just what I need.
Will report back.Oh dear, here we go again.0 -
Glad to find this thread, was just thinking of starting one myself.
I started 3 weeks ago and have lost half a stone.
The most exciting thing I find about this system is that I don't spend all of my time worrying about food, as promised in the book.
The problem I still have is that I am still eating out of habit and that I am still struggling to throw food away. Just tonight I've eaten a bowl full of stew and 2 massive dumplings because I couldn't stand to throw it away....all these years on MSE have taught me not to waste anything!!
Although oddly I have found things getting easier as the weeks have gone on, I wonder if thats just getting out of the habit of eating all the time???
I'm really glad this thread is here, lets keep talking guys!!!On a mission0 -
I'm on week two but I'm a bit confused on how often to listen to the trance track. I've only done it once but have listened to the pre-op track three times. I've used the havening technique twice which I found helpful for "emotional" eating.
So far it seems to be working and I've lost 5lbs. Do you think it would be ok to listen to the installation trance once a week?
I tried the "I can make you thin" CD and book but the Gastric Band technique seems to be working better for me as I actually feel fuller when eating than I did with the "I can make you thin" technique.
Thanks and good luck to everyone.0 -
How's everyone getting on with this?0

I've had the book for several weeks and been meaning to make the effort to get on with it. So.....after much procrastination I listened to the Installation cd on Thursday evening and yesterday was my first day. I seem to have hardly eaten a thing!! I've tried every diet going (well, nearly), and did I Can Make You Thin about 5 years ago. I lost a stone in a month doing that and was really happy with it but then my long term partner just up and left without warning and sent me into meltdown. I don't eat at all when I'm miserable so I lost weight and came out the other side a happier and thinner person, but the weight crept back on over the last 3 years.
I'm determined this will work for me. This is day 2 and all I've had today so far is a child size portion of cereal and about half of a ready meal. I was just looking at the rest of it wondering if I was really full or not when the cat started licking it so that answers the question of whether I'm going to finish it or not :rotfl:
How are you all doing? Still going strong or starting to wane? I'm going to listen to the cd again tonight, for reinforcement.
Good luck all.0
