its a ball gown from karen millen £250 reduced to £99 as a seam had split and the bolero was £95 down to £15 immaculate! i spent £60 on alterations as it was made for someone 5'8" or more lol and im no way that tall!

I had mine made - being a very slim, very short person in those days, (still short, but after 4 kids not so slim!!!) I bought the material for about £80, and I had my dress and 3 bridesmaids dresses for £300...was 10 years ago though....
15 crafts for 2015 challenge.
Christmas 2015 - started to save/wrap!0 -
In 1993 I got married in a registry office and my outfit was about £24 from New Look. A very smart cream skirt and jacket top (reduced in sale.) The skirt was a size bigger due to being 6 months pregnant and the zip was left undone but the top was long enough to hide the 'undone' skirt!
This thread made me realise I was a Money Saver back then without even being aware of it. :rotfl:Single, free and young (ish) :heartpuls0 -
i had to buy two as i changed my mind so total of £1200, then obviously i wore the original one - Hubby said he would of brought me ten if only to stop me moaning. In the end i let him see it to help me decide - nightmare i know!!0

How do you do that when its recommended not to buy off the internet?or is your bridal store ordering it from the US?

I got mine for  £2500:eek: But my foster mum paid for it her and my foster dad saved as soon as they knew I was engaged.
I said I didnt want the dress just because of the price
But she bought me it anyway...Sadly she passed away before My wedding day but I'm sure she was there with me.Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
Roberta Buchan (think that's how you spell it)
four weeks before the wedding £197
I didn't even look at the dresses. I went to the size 16 rail and checked all the price tags until I found one under £200! They were a wee bit funny about me taking it away, cause I hadn't left any time for them to "fit" it....but it fitted, well maybe a wee bit long....but £197, who cares!0 -
Mine will be £225 from Monsoon - my fashion student daughter sort of picked it for me - not the dress I was after but it looked much better than the one I liked!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j
:heart2: RIP Clio 1.9.93 - 7.4.10 :heart2:
