Great 'Work in a bank? What should we know' Hunt

Just a reminder about my post a few posts up on 03/03/09 and that i could still do with some help. Muchos Gracias456789 I think that because of my interpretation of the situation. It was fri afternoon and very busy. The desk was in the front of the bank by the door to the entrance. People kept interuptting to ask questions and it was noisy in the branch. Also there were noticible mistakes which i had to correct from time to time ie spelling of names etc (don't pick on mine it just proves how easy it is) and i felt we weren't communicating effectively. Also i have checked my credit history recently and there should be no reason to be rejected i also used the credit rating scorer on this website and got a good/excellent score.
With an internal application for an overdraft it may not even be credit scored. Account behaviour will play a large part in the 'score'.0 -

too true, now the questions to ask are as follows:
- have you been overdrawn in the last 6 months (excessively) i.e. always up to your limit etc
- have you exceeded your agreed o/d
- have you went o/d without permission - for anything even 1p
- have you got any other lending with HSBC (credit card/loan)
- if so to the above, have you ever missed anything or been late repaying
- have you applied for a lot from HSBC in the last 3 months
- have you applied and been declined/accepted within the last 3 months
All these affect your internal score and HSBC usually offer o/d based purely on internal scores, from my experience.

There are millions of homeowners across the country who requires buildings & contents though and that is a target market for banks to thrive on, plus it is an annual sales opportunity that can be diarised to ensure maximum profit! It can be used as a money saving pitch in 12 months to get the customer to come in and 'save more money' after you did such a good job the year before! Lol!
I did banking for 4 years and left after simply not wanting to sell anymore-bottom line xxLoan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!

I'm really not too worried about HSBC doing a Woolies. The companies are somewhat different after all.
Tell that to my mate who is a damn good trainer who has just lost his job in HSBC after leaving his 'sales' role to do something he felt morally fulfilled in. He put his a*se, heart and soul into that job and they have !!!!!! on him from a great height and he's gutted.
Give it time love, give it time. I got out when I could and I am glad of it!Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!

It's not hell. But it can be demoralising sometimes.0

I love working for a bank. I don't work in retail anymore, but I loved it when I did - and I still love my job in a bank.
