What is your before school routine?

Lots of 'hurry up' 'have you brushed your teeth' 'bang!bang! (on bathroom door) get out of the shower!' 'where's my tie?' 'have you got your pe kit?' 'don't forget to hand in this letter' 'put it IN the sink' 'get off your phone and get dressed!' and currently 'scrape!scrape!' (on car windows) at 7.30. I can remember when I used to get up at 7.30 (wistfully recalls pre-children laidback lifestyle...)0

I loathe mornings and I only have 1 child.
My 6 year old would sleep till noon if she was allowed, she's a whingy moanface in the am's, without fail. If it's a breakfast club day (I have college) then I leave her to the last possible second in bed (usually 7:45) and we are out the door by 8:10 (breakfast club just 5min walk away) normal days, I get her up at 8:20, she moans her way through eating breakfast, moans about wearing school clothes, then harps on about the "feel" of her socks or tights....whinge whinge whinge whinge moan - we are normally late on those days, my head usually wants to explode with her moaning in the am's.....0 -
I have three kids at home. Mornings are quite relaxed. I have to do all of my daughter's hair etc. so the girls take slightly longer to get ready than the boys. They play musical instruments at school and all have different homework deadlines etc each day so there is always the morning routine of sorting that out. Plus they always have a play. If I one had one child, there wouldn't really be anything much to sort.
They would never dream of putting a television on in the morning though?
And I would never dream of letting them."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

My son has it so ridiculously easy I think I need to make it harder for him for when he gets into the "real world". He can go from his bedroom and be at his desk for registration in under 5 minutes. One day a week he has a 9.30am start, for an almost teen it's heaven. I don't leave with DD until 8.40 so we don't get up until 7.45 and have a leisurely start to the morning.0

Yeah I wouldn't put the TV on either - never have, she'd sit and gog at it and not be productive in assisting to get ready. I don't even like the TV on in general, I prefer the radio....0 -

We quite often do, not during breakfast but there is often a spare 15 minutes and I snuggle up on the sofa with DD and a cuppa and watch Horrible Histories, or Deadly 60. Homework is always done and behaviour is good so I don't see a problem.0 -

I have vivid memories of several times having to walk DS1 to school in my PJs with a coat over the top and DS2 latched onto my boob. I wasn't the only one either....Val.0 -

I didn't say it was a problem.
I just said my kids wouldn't dream of watching it in the morning. If they had a spare 15 minutes, they'd spend it either playing or reading."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

Morning, wake up at 5.45am, get myself showered and dressed, out the door for 6.30am. Work from 6.45am-7.45am (caring for a disabled boy) home for 8am. Husband has dressed the kids, I make breakfast for us eat together and all out the door by 8.45am. I then go to uni, drop 6 year old at school. Husband drops 3 year old at nursery.0
