Afternoon everyone, finally found my way back here and it's lovely to see some old faces, especially Tru, I drove past your house the other day and wondered how you were.

I've been a bit remiss with old style living but am getting back there slowly. So maybe a daily visit to old style will give me the kick I need?

    Happy birthday Miffy.

I went to have my eyes at the opticians tested this morning.

I get a free sight test, as my mum had glaucoma. About five years ago I was refered to the hospital for yearly check ups as the pressure in my eyes was quite high. I went to the hospital every year, and was discharged last year as there was no sign of glaucoma. I just have naturally high pressure in my eyes.

Anyway, everything was fine at the opticians this morning. There was a small change to my prescription. I've had my current glasses for a long time, so I wanted new specs this time. Wow they are expensive !

I tend to keep to the same independent opticans as they know my eyes. In a week or two my husband is going to try Specsavers as they do reduced rates for over 60's. If all goes well, another time I might try Specsavers by my glasses.

I've had my grocery delivery today, so I can now withstand more snow. None forecast though, and looks like rain for the weekend.

Just braved town, didn't go for much, but went in £world, came out £27 lighter:o Some of it was stocking up, some to come with us, and some scoffs for DH on the journey.
Called in Tesco, and bought myself a nice pink jumper:D, a meal deal as I had been fancying a prawn sarnie, and some cut price multi grain crackers.
Dinner tonight is probably Gammon Egg & Tomatoes, as have a Gammon Slice and some eggs which want using up, have some LO new potatoes, so may Spray Fry them too.
Done a load of darks, but they have gone on Bathroom Radiator and airer in bathroom, so I can put the fan on to get rid of the steam.
Take care everyone, and (((hugs))) all round

Went out for a wander, and bought a teeny sewing machine for just over £20 in £stretchers, will be fine for me as I only used machine for hemming curtains, making blinds and cushion covers etc, so will set it up tonight and sort DDs cushions! Went to travel agents and booked a week in May for me and DS in Menorca, DD saving her holidays as her and boyfriend are off to Florida later in the year. In celebration there is a chicken and chorizo stew in the SC and it smells yummy, I think I might actually be getting my appetite back cos the smell from the kitchen is making my tummy rumble!

  • Good afternoon everyone :)

    Happy Birthday Miffy :bdaycake:

I hope you have had a lovely day and it continues into the evening.

Well done on booking the holiday Jools and getting your appetite back too. I know life is never the same again but small steps back to normality all add up quickly and it's bigger steps on the way.

Beans on toast for dinner here, I can't be bothered with anything else and then it's a lazy night catching up on TV. I am exhausted and I never thought I would say this but I will be almost glad to go into hospital for the rest afterwards.

Little flurries of snow and I hope it stays light until I get home.

Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super evening. :)

    Afternoon All

Woke up to snow this morning but not much and it was all gone by lunchtime, none at work. Washing on airers, hoovering done and the chap has been to look at the TV thingy. I bought a freesat box so I could record and I can't cos you need 2 cables. Apparently going to cost about £100!

Sausage and mash for tea, had a salad roll for lunch from the dinner hall at school - couldn't find my soup that I had left on the worktop to defrost, someone had thrown the whole lot in the bin! Retrieved it because it was in a good lock & lock box, put the soup down the loo though as I didn't fancy it after that.

    Happy Birthday Miffy!

Hope you feel better soon Butterfly Brain.

Hugs to all those feeling poorly or down.

    Take care. XX
