when to put heating on?

dont have heating on overnight,none at all cant afford it. loft is fine walls are not but i rent . via a agent who does nothing. the building really needs pulling down its dreadful. will be looking to move but thats very difficult.
i dont get cold during the night ,i have one duvet and its fine. having the heating on in living room for few hrs 3pm onwards seems to be working
