No cold weather payments for the BN (Sussex) area???!!!

Have you got any official records of temperatures in your area ?
The scheme is completely inflexible, as I understand it.
There is no discretion whatsoever, and it entirely depends on the reported weather at the weather stations.
Arguing 'but it's colder at my house' will never result in a payout.0 -
i live in west sussex and sadly its not been cold enough long enough. although in my flat its flipping freezing lolJames tucker

Its been snowing for 5 days straight now and the temp has had an average below 0 degrees for much longer than a week.
What the HELL is going on>>>>>??????
As others have said, it depends on which weather station is used. I live inland, but our local weather station is Crosby, on the coast. It is a number of miles away from us, but the temperature there determines whether we get a CWP.0 -
Yep - mine is in Marham in Suffolk yet I am 40 miles away in Cambridgeshire - explain that one? All other CB postcodes seem to be dealt with much nearer.0

when i lived in london, half the borough came under heathrow and the other half under stanstead.
one year the heathrow half got one less payment and so they complained.
so instead of shifting everyone to stanstead, which historically paid out more often, they moved everyone over to heathrow.
i dont think it was a coincidence ....0 -

I'd be curious to know where in BN Sussex it has snowed for 5 days consecutive... Had snow Friday, then Sunday, and some drizzles there and then for a few minutes, that's it....0 -
It hasn't snowed for 5 days running in my part of Sussex. The only significant snowfall was on Sunday and the streets / roads were clear by yesterday.0

5 days of constant snow? Well I'm in Kent on the coast 3 miles from the E.Sussex border and it hasn't snowed here for that length of time. It's not even cold. I keep having to turn off the central heating as it gets too hot. OK, it is cold at night but then I'm in bed.
We have had it a lot colder than this for longer a year or two back.
Mind you, BN? I suppose it can be colder on the top of the South Downs!0 -
Maybe it was the right temp for "5 days" but what's important is it's for 7 days not 5. Wait a few more and you may get 1. We got CWP and it's been beautiful hot and sunny here. But the night is colder which triggers it.0
