I didn't see anywhere that it was a new build. Don't think so, as every child has their own room.
    Six bed new build, unlikely.

OP also says, chimney stands proud of the house. That is knowledge after research, as I had to do calculating where our chimney should be built.

Nice small tank weighing next to nothing is it then?

Together with all the carp and sediment thats been gathering there for eons and once it blocks the burners will result in a serious bill for OP to get them cleaned out again. Good advice not!

    Good grief!

No! This needs to be done with a smoke pellet designed for the purpose. It should also be done by a professional who knows what he is looking for. This as advised in OPs other thread.

Thats the understatement of the century.

As a non-professional how on earth would you know??

It would be best if you had not posted any of this abject and dangerous nonsense.

    Cheers

Why don't you try giving some advice then, or better still, offer her a free £2000 lump sum or whatever it is HETAS engineers charge to do exactly what I just recommended?

What's the difference btw in a smoke pellet and setting fire to a piece of timber - I'll give you a clue, nothing. All a sweep checks for is smoke from the chimney and seepage into neighbouring rooms. If I'm wrong correct me.

It was a new build when we bought it. It also had 4 bedrooms, but now it has 6 bedrooms, it is a bungalow.
I have a child who is a wheelchair user, and another child with sensory issues & LD.

We don't have a gas underground supply, just cylinders from the village shop.

There are, thankfully, some good, kind people around - your mechanic is definitely one of them - I wish more people out there could see how they can help others by such kind acts.

upthe left, don't forget to make a claim against local authority for damage to your car. They now have decided it's cheaper to pay out than get pot holes filled.
It's a lot milder here today, hope it's the same for you.

Why Do people always Ignore the most practical advice ?
This is true, the highways/ council will pay for the damage on production of a receipt for the work, photographic evedence of the damaged road surface and a signed statement as to what happened where and when.
    Be happy...;)

Photographs have been taken, and we are just awaiting the forms coming out.
Our Mechanic told us that when he was ringing up for the tyre, the repair place had asked him where OH hit the pothole, when he told them, apparently OH was the 6th person to have done it.

If just one of the previous six made the council aware of the pothole, your case is watertight, means they chose to do nothing about it.
If ever you feel you're running into trouble re heating. Ring DWP for a crisis loan, the money can be in your account almost immediately.
  • uptheleft - I am so glad things got sorted. Lots of good wishes for your family, and I hope the claim works out with the council.

The mechanic is a good man.

Please tell me to mind my own business if this is too sensitive, but if you have two children with disabilities they are entitled to disability benefits. The wheelchair user at the higher rate plus mobility. The total should be around £600 a month and I believe the wheelchair user is entitled to cold weather payments. You need to phone up and ask.

You would think that, wouldn't you!
The decision makers said that both children didnt need any extra help, therefore, DLA wasnt being awarded.
I spent a good 4 weeks chasing up letters from schools (even tho said child has a classroom assistant) Doctors, consultants and OT's, I filled out the forms, and sent them away. It took them 3 months to answer back, just to say NO. In truth, I know I could have appealed, but, those forms are horrendous, I was told I had to over exaggerate conditions etc but when you see what your writing down about your own child, its not pleasant.
Anytime I have claimed anything, wtc, ctc... I have always been overpaid, and ended up oweing them thousands.
I have 5 children, I receive £97 per week child tax credit, and £73?? per week child benefit. Its laughable sometimes...... NOT.
