Littlewoods account, customer passed away

Hi am writing on behalf of my mum as she is getting very anxious about this. Basically she has been an agent for Littlewoods catalogue for 30 years, but as of late only has 1 customer who sadly passed away a few months ago leaving £150 ish pound to be owed, obviously my mum does not want to pay someone elses debt. Littlewoods are saying they have done away with agents in 2008 something my mum was not aware of and cannot recall receiveing such information. She has an "agent only" number to call when she wants to place an order and is asked if its for a customer or herself at time of ordering. Littlewoods seem to only call my mum an agent when it suits them. A lot of items ordered have been delivered directly to this customers house. There is no estate as it was a single lady who lived in a council house. Littlewoods continue to chase my mum for payment and adding late fees each month. She has been to cab twice and sent letters twice on there advise but they still continue to chase payment, she is now going to refer it to the financial ombudsmen for help. My mum has no debt, owns her home, is never late at paying anything, I think its disgusting how she is being treated.
Anybody have any advise to help?

There's a Littlewoods rep who comes around here occasionally. Hopefully (s)he will see this and respond.

Has your mum been buying goods for these people under her own name or has she separate accounts for each customer that Littlewoods know about.

She may actually be liable for it if she has ordered these under her own name.

Have you actually checked with the family if they can pay the debt. Just because she lived in a council house doesnt mean she has no estate.

Other than that Write to Littlewoods and explain the circumstances, recorded delivery and keep copies of everything.

Good luck to her, it must be worrying.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

    Hi Mazda6,

We are very sorry to hear that this has happened and will be able to look into this further.

What we can do will depend on what kind of account your mum holds with us so if you could ask her to email us (from the address that is stored on the account) at Help@littlewoods.co.uk then we will be able to advise further.

    Many Thanks

she doesnt use email, hence why everything has been by post, so does not have an email address linked to her account

That wasn't exactly the most reassuring response from the Littlewoods Rep was it? :(

Not a helpful response at all, my mum has received a final letter from Littlewoods and is demanding full payment, which they are not getting. It is causing her a lot of stress and to be honest me to, seems littlewoods could not care less.

What would you expect the website rep to say? It doesn't seem unreasonable for them to assume that anyone asking questions on here to be able to respond by email; they aren't to know that your mum had never dealt with Littlewoods that way. Hopefully they will return and now more information has been made available they can suggest an alternative method of contacting them.

What do you want them to say ?????

They offered to look into to the issue. To do this they need hard details to tie it to a account at the other end.
Now that info should not be posted on a open forum.

So the OP can send the email (clearly they have access) with their mothers details and the rep will look at the issue....

They can't simply guess at the details or wave a magic wand and make the issue better straight away.....
Never ASSUME anything its makes a
