We like ciabattas.
Bacon, Brie & Cranberry is my fav, my partner likes, Steak, Onions & Cheese. I normally serve with some colslaw and pringles or potato wedges.
Chicken & Bacon Melt: Chicken Breast wrapped in Bacon cooked in the oven in foil, after 20mins take off the foil ,top with a pineapple ring and cheese and back in the oven to melt. Must have BBQ sauce on it - yummy.
This is a great thread, im fed up of having the same stuff everyweek!0 -
Following on from a comment in the original post - meals for warmer weather. Just a few ideas to start it off.
Nicoise Salad
Bulghur and chickpea salad
Couscous salad with mixed beans
Greek feta cheese salad
Insalata Caprese - mozzarella and tomato
Pasta salad - cook pasta in the morniong before it gets hot.
Roast! I "roast" a whole chicken on my Gas BBQ by the Indirect method. Also works with Beef and Lamb. Not tried pork yet.

Hello everybody,
Another lovely day here, mixed the compost around a bit and watered some of the plants, more to go, but DS1 and DDIL1 have gone shopping so I am looking after DGD2...or she is looking after me, not sure which as at 2 and 3 months she is helping out bigtime in between eating practically non-stop....she is knee-high to a grasshopper but puts away nearly as much as an adult...and 99% of it is fruit, cheese and vegetables.
Hugs to all in need and congratulations to anyone with anything to celebrate.
I was back to my doctor this morning who has now completed (I hope) the last form required in respect of my retirement. Hopefully that means that when I come back from Sardinia I will finally be a pensioner.
Made some nice bread last night and bm is on hoping for a repeat, I find that quality varies greatly, I think it has something to do with the amount of liquid, it is better if I measure exactly, something I'm not great at. I also find that I need to use strong flour, as cheaper ones don't seem to work as well...pity, as plain flour is 48€c in Lidl and strong flour varies from €1.74 upwards for two kilos...any advice on using the cheaper flours would be welcome.
We are really enjoying all the lovely fresh salads we are using from the garden at present, and the rhubarb crumbles and tarts...roll on the raspberries, loganberries, tayberries, strawberries and currants. I have promised myself that I am definitely going to buy some blueberry bushes for next year, I love them but the price is prohitive so rarely have them.
Would love to join the different meal every day challenge, but can't seem to get myself organised enough to know what we are having to-morrow, never mind next week! I find that since I have started watching what I buy and use in the food line especially that I am making dinners with ingredients I formerly wouldn't use except for snacks, so the money saving is happening, however slowly. As I was so careless yesterday and spent €143+ of my €400 budget in supermarkets we will be eating out of the cupboards, freezers and garden, even if it means that we have potatoes, veggies and rhubarb every day for the last week of the challenge!
Washing on the line, more ready to go out and more to go into wm, must take advantage of the heat and breeze.

What about potato salad?
I make mine using the cheap tin new potatoes from Mr Ts.
Add some mayo/salad cream; sweet corn; peppers; spring onions; and any other salad veg that takes your fancy0 -
Potato salad made with dressing of olive oil, wholegrain mustard, white wine vinegar and garlic. Yummy and very cheap.
Pasta salad with pesto and sliced green beans
Egg mayonnaise
Rice and lentil salad
If this was a thread about having the same thing every night for a month I'd be a lot more comfortable tho0 -
