After researching i gathered that roughly the price for an iphone 5 contract was around about £1000 spread over 2 years.
The following method will cost.............. £864
Well, if you buy the iPhone directly from Apple (Sim Free) it will cost £530, or with 2 years financing £575 (Spread across 24 monthly payments of £24) combine that with the likes of GiffGaff, for £12 a month you get 250 mins, Ultd. Texts, Ultd. Int. And Ultd. Int is truly unlimited, or for £15 a month you can change the 250 to 400.
(or if you want to, instead of getting it on Finance from apple you can get it on an interest free CC, however if you don't have one I suggest Apple. - £22.05 a month - w/ giffgaff £34.05)
Bearing in mind almost all mobile phone companies have fair use policies or limit it go 1/2gb this can make people conscious about data use.
So,
with the £24 a month to Apple and the £12 a month to giffgaff you can have...
£36 a month (inc. iPhone 5)
250 minutes
Ultd. Internet
Ultd. Texts
And you are free to change carrier and plan when need be and there will be no excessive costs for going over internet or Data because you can set your GiffGaff to not go over.
iPhone available from Apple stores or there online store.

Are you allowed to put a link for your giffgaff?
£12 to Virgin gets you 1200 mins, 1gb data (which is plenty enough) and unlimited texts and financing the handset on interest free CC would save even more money.0 -
I only included Apple's financing plans for people who didn't want a big bill on there CC. And about the link, i'm not sure! I'm not really intending on using this much it's just something that sprung into my mind that i wanted to share.0

Re the 'big bill on their CC', it will be smaller than the bill from Apple Finance because the suggestion was to use an "interest free" CC.
And what does the word 'contract' in the title has to do with the content of your post?0 -

GiffGaff link -> giffgaff**.com/order**/affiliate/GiveMe£5!...
iPhone available from Apple stores or there online store.
(Take away (**) in link)

Why bother with the expensive (in comparison) GiffGaff now, a low user can rather just use Ovivo and get free minutes, texts and data for £0 per month.
But then if they did, you don't get the £5 per person who orders a simcard from your affiliate link, do you?====0 -
I've flagged the post as spam as it contains an affiliate link (and shouldn't on this board). However thanks for your post, the link aside it contains some interesting information. Welcome to MSE
Plenty enough for whoMaybe for you.
Well boys, yes it is plenty enough for me, I understand usuage is very much individual.
Daily I use a good 8 data required apps, the settings on my handset are background data ON, autosync OFF, and it is the auto sync OFF which reduced the data useage somewhat.
Just checked my O2 app which reports I have used a misely 347mb since the 1st of the month, only when I tethered to my netbook did I go over 500mb and even then it was under 1gb.0 -
Firstly, regarding the link this is a money saving blog so why not allow people to ACTUALLY save money.
And regarding the Data usage - as most people know iPhone are heavy data users and also as said in my thread people are conscious about how much data they use, you proved the point by saying you had a lot of features turned off.0 -

It's a forum for money saving, not to allow people to join to make money. Why do you feel the need to make £5 per referral by including your referral link?
If its all about money saving all you need is the link to the homepage, there are plenty of opportunities directly from their home page to order a sim if a person wants to.
But then, being money saving, I would suggest Ovivo is a better alternative now for the cost conscious. Just had a look at their site http://ovivomobile.com and it is now 100 min, 100 texts and 400MB data for £0 (that is free) per month. Definitely more MSE.====0 -

I don't see auto update as a feature, if it's not broke then don't fix it. Not every update is necessary or desirable and I can choose if when and what I wish to update. I want my device to use data when I require the information it is delivering, I don't see why some people are balking about data useage when the user simply could set the device for their own usage, as you mention it's about being conscious.0
