they've not removed the offer just amended it so think they are still on the right side of the lawloves a good glitch :j0

I got to the Plymouth store just as they were putting up the posters that amended it, boo hoo
I did manage to get 2 x £20 for Pizza Hut and Express for girls birthdays soon and 2 x £10 Starbucks in the same transaction so they didn't seem too bothered about the limit of 2 at mine?
Well done to all those that got them though :T0 -
No, just once a week on a Sunday at one or the other.
you need a new calculator. :rotfl:
52 weeks in a year @ £15 a visit = £780
Valid for 18 months so not enough really.
Once a week is a lot imho! Anyway, didn't mean any offence, apologies if it came across that waySuperSmoothie wrote: »When I first read about it on Monday morning my gut feeling was that this offer would be quickly withdrawn.
It's just unheard of for one retailer to heavily discount giftcards for another. Argos giving us all 25% off Next, TK Maxx, Debenhams, Boots was bizarre and I jumped on the offer immediately to make the most of it.
Take Next for instance - they don't even do what the likes of Debenhams, M&S, H&M, BHS etc. do all the time (giving random across the board discounts - 10% off fragrances, 20% off menswear etc. etc.).
Next never give ANY DISCOUNTS - EVER - only their sale. So for the first time ever I had the chance to get 25% off EVERYTHING in Next, including sale items and including online. That was INSANE!!!
And with potential loopholes emerging about the ability to use the 25%-off giftcards to then buy PayPal and VISA card vouchers elsewhere, something was wrong with this deal!
On the other forum someone has mentioned that a Debenhams manager told them this morning that the Argos offer was withdrawn after a request from Debenhams btw. This was inevitable.
Same here! I'm lucky to work around the corner from 2 Argos stores in the city centre, so I decided to get mine early on in case (1) they ran out of GCs or (2) the offer was pulled! Most of us remember the Debenhams £5 gift card fiasco and the Tesco DTD... companies usually withdraw 'too good to be true' offers that they haven't thought through properly after they get taken for a few £££.
Of course it's a shame that it has been pulled so soon. Like I said, as it didn't appear in Martin's email this week, I thought that it would be safe for now, but there you go.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I bought £200 worth of next vouchers when offer first started.
Went to another Argos yesterday and could not see any on the shelf.
Went back to the store on my lunch break where I first got vouchers and realised the offer had changed. Was hoping to have got some more vouchers but after 20mins at till realised they had pulled certain retailers and it was a limit of 2 per customer.
Glad for once I got a glitch though as I never do.0 -
We tried to buy 2X£10 next vouchers last night but unfortunately staff had let 1 greedy customer buy the entire stock at 9am.
My husband went back today to find the offer changed, however a lovely staff member validated our story and let us have the 2 next vouchers at £15 as a goodwill gesture.
I was more annoyed at the store for letting someone buy everything rather than the woman herself (although i suspect vouchers are prob on ebay as we speak)

There was no limit to how many you could buy previously which is really the stores fault for not putting on restrictions not the customers. Some call it greedy - others an opportunity. Most people buying the next vouchers are using it to pay their accounts I think.0 -
Greedy =Excessively desirous of acquiring or possessing, especially wishing to possess more than what one needs.
I needed to pay my Next balance off from the VIP sale...I bought exactly what I needed...no more...as did many forum members. This incessant need to call fortunate & SAVVY people greedy smacks of sour grapes. Had people cheated the offer then level insults at them, but as there was no limit to purchase etc....Lay off.

Well, we didn't strictly NEED bedlinen from Next, we could have made do with Primark, but I wanted nice stuff and had already seen it, so I certainly didn't buy GCs to sell on or stockpile! So I don't think that I'm greedy either.
I miss out on lots of Grabbits that others exploit for all they're worth, but I don't ever begrudge them. I just enjoy the Grabbits that I do get. That's the MSE spiritGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I don't think anyone bought them to sell on eBay.....not worth selling after paying 10% fees. So even if they sold a £20 GC for £18 they would of had to pay £1.80 in just the final value fees....people genuinely bought them to use themselves. Well done to everyone who managed to get them0
