Eating and leisure according to Sam234 - so I'm assuming Nando's, Pizza Hut, Pizza Express, Starbucks etc. Possibly iTunes and Ticketmaster?

Nothing that I'd want, but hey ho. I've had a good run.

Itunes were never in the offer i'm afraid

I got Starbucks and Cineworld, really frustrated that they've pulled the others. Knew I should have gone out yesterday to get them. I do think they should have just limited the number of vouchers per customer rather than pulling some altogether but perhaps it was the stores in question (i.e. Next etc) who wanted them pulled?

You can't blame them when people were spending hundreds of pounds on them. I'm glad i got mine when i did, but i only got a couple. It's a shame people had to ruin it for others really. They should have put a cap on it or something instead of pulling it altogether.

It's the retailer's own fault, as usual. Perhaps they should have capped it, but they didn't.

I was one of those who bought hundreds of pounds' worth, but only for stores I often buy from anyway - Boots, Next, Debs and TK Maxx. I have already spent some of them - we're buying a lot of household things atm and I had my eye on a few items, which I have now bought, saving 25% (on top of sale prices in some cases). I'm chuffed.

If you only wanted a couple, then fine, and I'm glad that you got them. But it's not our fault that Argos didn't figure out that this would happen. :)

Incidentally, I know a few peeps at work who were waiting until after payday to buy their gift cards, and others no doubt had the same intention. So, imagine how quickly this offer would have been pulled if it had happened at the end of January - most people get paid this weekend or next week!

The Next GCs did seem to be by far the most popular in most stores, so perhaps you're right.

Yes they should have limited these per customer. It amazes me after so long in business these shops encounter "unexpected" demand etc etc!!

One way their fault but greedy people at fault on the other side.

It is annoying for those of us who've missed out but you can't blame people for jumping on a good deal. Some of the amounts people have spent have been surprising, but good on them if they are genuinely making a saving (i.e. would have spent that much money in the store anyway). I didn't see the signage until the vouchers had already gone through the till, so cashier had to take off TKMaxx and Topshop - perhaps that's a good thing, there's nothing specific I wanted there although having just moved back to the UK after six years overseas we are starting again from scratch with household goods and clothes, so sure they would have come in handy!

Given that people were able to pay off their Next accounts using the vouchers I suspect Next may not have been happy (although I say fair play to the people doing it, great use of the cards!).

I've just got back and managed to buy some Boots and New Look gift cards on the discount.

The lady serving me was having problems and the deal wasnt coming off when she put in the code but she somehow overrode it - looks like i got in there just in time!

    Thanks to the op x
