Thanks for the 2 latest posts...some more brilliant ideas there. Cards and juice are great ideas, and I'd not thought of crisps or dvd's either, so will add them to the list. I hope to be able to make some pretty varied parcels so they are real treats to open for him.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.

I used to send a selection of tea bags and children's sweets to my BIL when he was stationed in Afghan. He also liked fruit and nut mixes, and powdered cordial mixes which I brought back from Canada to include in his boxes. I'm sure you can get kool aid (sweetened, not the stuff you add sugar to) and crystal light on amazon - he really enjoyed having new things to try. We also bought little bits from American shops - bags of crisps, sweets that wouldn't melt, etc.
He didn't expect boxes from me, and was already getting them from his parents and his partner, so I tried my best to make sure mine were a little more unusual.
Now that he's home, we have made a shoebox with various bits for his Christmas present this year. He really got a kick out of that.Swagbucks Amazon gift vouchers 2014 125/250

we sent our son
super noodles
cuppa soup
wipes
haribos (loads of them)
we tried to send different stuff every week. all the lads shared their parcels so dont worry too much about sending similair stuff .
post office were allowing parcels of 2kg to be sent for free 2 yrs ago when he was in afghanistan so check if they are still allowing this.weigh parcels as we were refused one day because the parcel was 2.2kg0 -
Mst of the list has been covered but as a parcel veteran of 5yrs, packing to shoebox size and 2kg is an art! Whilst juice has been mentioned, it's rather heavy so used to send sachets of flavouring (think it was called Wahoo....was in ASDA).
They get most papers out there but my oh is into cars and bikes so MCN/top gear mags as these tend to do the rounds. Jelly pots are good, and fruit pots too.
Hope this helps and his tour goes quickly and safelyChange is inevitable...nothing stays the same forever

Hoorah, I found some of the powdered cordial stuff in Asda today.
Called Quosh and they had several flavours so got a couple of boxes ready to go into the 1st parcel.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.

My boyfriend has just headed back out to Afghan after his 10 days r and r break! He mentioned that 1 of the great things i sent out to him was the sachet coffee you can have. The 3 in 1 which has the coffee, sugar and milk in one. The said that often when they fancy a cup of tea or coffee, there's always something they can't get their hands on, may it be the milk or sugar!! Hope this helps0
