Parcels to Afghanistan

Hi guys,
sorry if this is in the wrong place- it's not really money saving, but I'd really appreciate some advice.
My young nephew is about to go to Afghanistan and I'd like to send parcels to him whilst he is out there...but I don't really know what's best to send.
Are there any things that are more appreciated than others out there? His mum is sorting all of his kit out, so he has boots etc, but goody wise I'd like to send a box a week with stuff in it.
He is early 20's if that makes a difference.
I don't know anyone out there to as, so thought someone on here might know.
Thanks in advance. Willowpop x

Hi
From experience anything is really appreciated. Just knowing that someone has spent 5 minutes of there time to send a box of goodies is so good.
Favourite foods is good, although chocolate tends to melt.
No aerosoles or alcohol.....
Magazines, books, silly gadgets, chocolate, food or pictures.
I hope that helps

There's a list here http://www.supportoursoldiers.co.uk/irshop.aspx?section=content&page=115
I'd avoid chocolate or anything else which might melt in 50 degree heat.0 -

Am on a six monther in Afghanistan at the moment so rest assured, chocolate is all good at the moment as it is pretty chilly in country!! The chocolate season lasts until about march then it all becomes a bit too warm.0

Ok, so I think he will be coming out to join you guys there late Feb/March, so chocolate is off the parcel menu then! Don't want a melty mush arriving! That's really helpful.
Keep yourself safe out there.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.

So far so good...
I have 3 copies of FHM for £1. I believe this will suit the discerning young gent.
I saw an afghan veteran at work and asked him...he said racy pictures and noodles were always welcome. I'm doubtful he will appreciate racy photos of his aunt, so I shall pack extra noodles!:rotfl:
Plus sweets and biscuits.
I reckon that is the 1st parcel sorted. :TPAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.

When my fiance went out there summer 12, what he said he wanted was cordial juice, and fruit cartens as they drink so much water he said it got boring, so he said it was a treat to receive that.
Also sent him local paper weekly, so he could keep up with weekly news and not feel so out the loop.
I wish your nephew a safe tour.0
