Kias are having problems or that Kia wont pay.

How on earth do you decide which post is genuine or fake ? It's no use knocking every poster just in case they are posting rubbish. You would probably be best advised to find the correct information for yourself and not rely on Forums.0

However, from this thread I think its safe to say that when a dealer asks what fuel you put in your vehicle it is always preferable to state a brand or tell them where to go.0 -
Fuel waxing leading to fuel filter blockages is currently a big problem nationally, seeing it mainly with Fords and Peugeot/Citroen, but others too. I can't quote my sources, you'll have to take my word for it :P
Not covered by warranty or maintenence contracts (although some will with a bit of pushing)0 -
If manufacturers are going down the route of blaming fuel for their component failures, we'd be seeing tens of thousands of these cars broken down around the filling stations.
I'm not exaggerating if I tell you you're not far off - certainly thousands I'd guess. Problem is, it can be a gradual thing until the fuel pressure sensor sees a drop in fuel pressure and puts the car in limp mode, so probably won't see it on garage forecourts.0 -
Just put the below into another thread on MSE forum about Supermarket Fuel:
"Just to add my saga !
62 Reg Citroen Diesel Car done less than 2300 miles.
On way home various error messages came on dash, loud beep and car went into economy mode.
Contacted local dealer. Found fault to be blocked fuel filter due to waxing of diesel fuel. Blamed supermarket diesel, saying inferior in quality to branded makes. Car would not be fixed under warranty, as was a 'poor fuel quality issue'. Repair cost = nearly £150 !
Am writing to Citroen Head Office and Sainsburys now.
No doubt will get fobbed off by both, but at least I have tried ! "
Bloke at Citroen said they had repaired several same issues this week on other cars and many more before that.0 -
Hi there, just joined this forum. I am looking for advice regarding fuel contamination.
I filled my 59 reg car up with £60 worth of diesel at Sainsburys Team Valley petrol station today. When I took the fuel nozzle out I noticed it was frothy.
While driving home on the A1 my car started to judder as if it was in too high a gear. I made it home.
I have researched the internet and feel the diesel may be contamined. I rang the petrol station to ask them about possible fuel contamination and was advised to take my car to a garage to check for this. I have rang 3 garages and they do not check diesel for contamination. Where can I get the diesel tested?
Any help would be appreciated.0 -

Not may about I don't think and it's usually £100 + which you might be able to claim from the fuel station if you're proved correct - try http://www.theoillab.co.uk/car-light-commercial0
