What Grumps says is perfectly true....and hilites the need for all those considering BR [despite how low or depressed one feels]....to actually get all this done beforehand...preparation is the key to stress-free BR.

All the information a budding BR needs is available on this forum..either by searching, or simply posting questions.

It is so much more difficult for folk on here to advise and support, if the poster has gone into BR with little or no concept of what's involved, and where the pitfalls may lie.
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
  • Ok went BR on the 4th April and after reading the above just rang the Coop as I have 2 Coop Cashminder accounts opened 4 years ago ok, just rang the Coop and the lady consulted with her supervisor who passed the buck back to the ORs decision that if there ok with you having a basic bank account with the Coop ie Cashminder then the Coop would let you keep your account provided it was opened prior to your BR and not after.

I had a quick call from the ORs office this morning to arrange an appointment for my interview over the phone and she said they would write to the Coop and say that they had no objection to me having a Coop Cashminder as my JSA goes into that account.

I have a basic Barclays account as well I use that to keep spare money in, not that there is any in there at the moment...will wait and see.
