despite what you may believe I have no desire to have the same discussion.
What I would say though is the following.
I know a number of teachers and they perceive that there is widespread "teacher bashing" There are people on here who think that others are quick to critisise teachers and the person who posted the question also believes that there is widespread teacher bashing. Given the above, if it was me I would be asking the following:
If it is so prevalent, has anyone considered the possibility that there is some merit in what is being said.0 -
Because there are lots and lots of teachers so lots of 'targets' to 'attack'.
Unlike, say, Chemical Engineers, a rare breed these days, given the number of Chemical Refineries that have closed down now; thus rendering them unemployed and with lots of time on their hands to attack other demographic groups. Still, makes a change from attacking benefit claimants, one supposes.:p
I disagree.
There are lots of doctors, nurses, firemen, shop workers, cleaners and they dont get this. It is not simply the "weight of numbers"0 -
'tis envy, then.
Of the 'holidays' and perceived 'short working days'. Because, of course, ALL teachers roll into their schools at 5 to 9 and are out of the car park at 3:35 at the latest. And don't take ANY work home and don't work ANY weekends and don't spend ANY of their own money on additional resources for their classroom, or spend any time in school at weekends or during the holidays. Must be a cushy number.
Yeah, right!
What have YOU got against teachers, Johnny?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

nope, its not envy at all, or at least certainly not from me.
As a parent I can assure you that a common critisism of teachers from other parents, and people I work with and have previously worked with are
1 patronising
2 sanctimonious
3 hypocritical
whether you agree with them or not is really irrelevant, nor have I the inclination to justify them. I would be asking myself if there was any merit in these if so many people had these perceptions.0 -
at the end of the day you have been caught with your pants down, making rules up that dont exist to justify the work shy nature of the modern teacher.
No he or she hasn't. Not once. I have read this whole thread and not in any of mariscos posts has anything been made up or twisted. Unlike yourself that poster speaks sense.Grammar: The difference between knowing your !!!!!! and knowing you're !!!!!! :cool:0 -
A risk assessment includes safe access for emergency services. If they cannot get onto all areas of the site the school cannot open. Schools do not have limited budgets and cannot just get outside agencies in to clear the school to this standard. Many schools are spread over a huge site, often with "temporary" buildings and associated steps and slopes.0

I disagree.

but there are plenty of other worker groups who do get bashed
estate agents
'fat cat' bankers
police (they even get called 'pigs')
traffic wardens
car clampers
shop assistants
call centre workers
cold callers/salesmen
to name a few.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

That would be a gross misuse of the risk assessment process.0 -

or is it simply that you have had the misfortune to meet one or two teachers with whom you have had problems and it's now a vendetta?
I notice you don't call them rude. No, that would be more correctly applied to you, because you have been VERY rude to me! Merely because I have disagreed with you.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

.
So lets get this straight, I have had a bad experience and then this has led to teacher bashing by lots of people
does that sound like a sensible explanation to you? Can you seriously not see the flaw with that explanation?
I have describe the view of others, how can it be linked to an experience of mine.0
