but 4s shouldn't be much more and is much better.
Why didn't you look for a handset at the best price you could find, and go for the Ovivo SIM - £10 initial outlay and free monthly?0 -
If I buy a 4S handset, and try Ovivo but don't like Ovivo. Then what are my options for renting monthly? If I wanted to keep the phone I suppose I should look at contracts that don't include a phone. Are those more generous or cheaper than the ones that do include a phone?0

Virgin, Orange and 3 all do monthly sim only deals, I suspect the others do too. Benefit is you are not tied into a long term and can switch when you want.0 -

if there's no benefit in price, then i'd have forked out on a handset and if I were to not like Ovivo, then I could've got a contract deal with a cheap handset.
but fortunately sim only contracts look like < £10 a month. "Three" offer £6.90 a month

There's £21 TCB/Quidco with that deal as well, bringing it down to a fiver per month net! last month the cashback was £42!0 -
I use an iPhone which my daughter bought for me. I have a 3 PAYG sim card, which is handy as I like the freedom to change my number, no unexpected bills etc. I pay £15 (with a top up voucher) for the All in One 15 which gives me 300 minutes, 3000 texts and All-you-can-eat data for a month. Sometimes I go way over on the data but it's never a problem (altough I don't tether it). I actually think that's a pretty good deal.
The only drawback was not being able to call 0800, 0845, 0870 numbers as they are not part of the plan. However there are a few free iPhone apps that just do it for you so they only come out of my normal minutes.0
