The '101 days to change our lives' challenge
Comments
-
ooh I like this challenge - very positive, which I need at the moment as am tending to look at the negative things in life a little!
In the next 101 days I would like to:
1. Lose 1 stone in weight - so 14lbs.
I aim to do this by upping my exercise - actually go to the gym, pay my backlog of unpaid fees (have to py them sometime!!) and then go - I am able to cancel the gym in August so might as well use it! Also I would like to go back on SW, which I have done before successfully and just need motivation - can get the pasword and so use the SW website which is a motivational tool on its own. I have also given up alcohol (at home and in this area, although when I go to my mums I will have a drink!).
11 August is my ds's 2nd birthday and my friend's wedding so it'd be nice to have some nice photos of a slimmer me
2. Slowly declutter and tidy the house - just to a point where there aren't loads of piles and I find it easier to find things!! I will do this by slowly introducing the Flylady regime and might order the body clutter book from the library to help with no.1 thinking about it!
3. Develop the gardening with the children - will do this by actually checking the plants we planted today and not letting them die. Will rake over a little allotment patch in garden soon too.
That's all! But I think enough really

Great idea for a thread - can I join in too
Ok so I was made redundant on Fridayso guess what my first goal is....
1. get a job - I have a list of about 20 recruitment agencies for my industry to contact and make appointments for interviews with but must get my CV sorted first.
2. Lose 5 lbs and generally get a bit fitter - As I am not rusing off to work every day I am going to try to go to the gym for an hour every morning after I drop DD off at school. This challenge ends just after the start of my summer holiday so this is also a goal to look better in a bikini
3. Eat more healthily - Again as I will have more time I will be able to plan meals more and have already started off my vegetable garden so will be able to look after that a bit more too.
4. DD wants to go to stage school which is now dependant on me getting a job first and also getting some financial assistance by way of a grant. I have been trying for a while to get a grant but keep hitting brick walls so I am keeping going with this but as I have lost my job it is not looking good.
once I have got a job I will re do my goals to include doing some DIY at home and packing in smoking.
Good luck with your goals everybody :T:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -
Foolishly I have not added any of my targets, but then I have just been on a nightmare train journey! I will add some soon.
Nobody needs to ask to join, far from it. Absolutely amazed at how many have joined in so far, I just know we can help each other to get somewhere with something.
Counting tomorrow as day 1 I make day 101 as the 8th AugustI'm the only gay in this forum

I'm going to join you all too. In the next 101 days, I aim to;
1. Get a job. This is a huge thing for me - I've been a student, and then a full time mum for more years than I care to remember. I haven't worked for so long that the thought of it just terrifies me. I would have to organise three lots of childcare, buy a suit, go to interviews, etc. I'm hyperventilating at the thought! We're in debt, though, so this is the first step to a debt free life.
2. Lose weight (along with everyone else, right?). I want to lose two stones in 101 days. I have been dieting for a couple of months and lost around 20lbs so far, so I'll carry on with the calorie counting and exercise.
3. I would like to make some progress with my allotment. I have fallen behind with the weeding and planting, and nothing is in the ground at the moment. So for this target, I want to be able to eat a meal that I've grown myself in 101 days.
4. I want to take up running. It's better than the gym, because it's always 'open', it's free, and I don't have to get the bus there. The downside is, I wobble when I run, and I can only manage about 50 yards before needing an ambulance. In 101 days, I would like to be able to run a mile.
To acheive my goals;
1. Apply for jobs, look round the local nurseries, buy a suit  in readiness for interviews (optimistic, me :rotfl: )
2. Eat less, exercise more. Lettuce is my friend.
3. Dig, woman, dig. Plant something, and fast!
4. Find some sort of 'running for idiots' training program. Give it a whirl.
Good luck people. Thanks OP for the fabulous challenge :T0 -

- get up to date with OU work
- get overdraft down to 1500 pounds
- list something on ebay every week
If 8 Aug is the day as noted above then its the day before my birthday so would be great timing!
HOw I'll do this:
- limit myself to one treat per day, eat 2 pieces of fruit per day and drink more water

In the next 101 days I want to:
1) Pay off Lombard loan (in my name but for ex who p***ed off & left me to pay back so valuable lesson learnt!)
2) Get an efficient filing method established
3) Declutter/tidy so i can find things without falling over piles of stuff or worrying I've lost important things
4) Learn to meal plan efficiently
5) Be happier & more confident
To achieve these targets I will:
1) Use savings in ISA & pay off early (actual finish date is Feb 2008) but I need a new car before I start new job in September that is further than current one so I need a reliable car.
2) Read tips from MSE!! And file/shred regularly!
3) Read flylady & tips from MSE. Stop hoarding, don't buy new things without thinking "how long will I use this for/how long will it be before this ends up on ebay or at back of cupboard?"
4) Again, use the font of all knowledge that is MSE, specifically the OS forum.
5) Write things down if I'm upset/angry/worried. Keep telling myself how fab I am! :rotfl: Believe in myself & talk to professionals & friends regarding family issues
Will probably add more during the 101 days but will start with these.
Good luck everyone :beer:Married my wonderful husband February 2013!:happyhearI want to wear my beautiful wedding dress everyday- it would make shopping so much more fun, I mean, people go shopping in their pyjamas these days.......Must STOP spending!!!Proud to be dealing with my debts!0 -

1 ~ save at least £1000.00
2 ~ be more confident
3 ~ have 3 balanced meals a day
4 ~ walk more
3 months seems a long time but in reality is very short but if we put our minds to it we can all do this... :T
To achive these i will
1 ~ save every penny, now i am debt free this should be easy ish but i must stop spending money here/there/everywhere
2 ~ face work tommorow, know that i have to be there to get where i want to be in a years time and know they can do anything and it wont matter to me and i will not dwel on it... hold my head up and be confident
3 ~ plan and then eat 3 meals a day, even i this mean getting up earlier/cooking when i would rather be on here
4 ~ walk to/from work to save money on bus fare and get a bit fitter and if i lose a few pounds all the better0 -
I love this idea :T
So my aims are
1) Drink 1 litre of water a day (just over 2 pints)
2) Eat 2 portions of fruit a day
3) Lose weight-I don't care how much as there's lots to lose
4) Pay my £600 overdraft back (I probably won't do this in the time limit but will have a d**n good try
Put into practice by
1) Drinking a large glass of water at each meal and another in the evening
2) Add dried fruit to my breakfast cereal and have a piece of fresh fruit at lunchtime
3) Start practicing my karate and toning exercises at home at least once a week. Will also dig out my thigh toner spring thingy and use it :rotfl:
4) I am on short term contract till Dec so I get paid even if I'm off for any reason. So £100 each month to be left in the account, £150 if poss. I will try other ways of saving as well when I've thought harder.MFiT Member No 85
