    Hello all,

I've just bought a Sony Ericsson J220i from the Vodafone shop in Clarks Village for £25. Very pleased with the phone, much better than my Nokia 6021, but it seems to be locked to Vodafone! Does anyone know how to unlock it?

    TIA, Rog
Don't blame me, it was like that when I got here!
  • Don't know if this will help anyone but I rang Vodafone this morning for an unlocking code for my phone and as it was over 12 months old they did it for free!! How good is that? I'm on PAYG too.
We finally did it! Debt free 28/6/10 :T  :T
  • it seems that Motorola are impossible to unlock for free or without a cable..which i dont have. Pleeease tell me this isnt true!if anyone knows any ways of unlocking a Motorola V525 locked to Vodafone then please e-mail/PM me, thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Can a Sony Ericsson P900 be unlocked? Or will I need to take it to a shop for them to use the wires and stuff to unlock it?

    Thanks, much appreciated.

it also seems such a scam that we pay over £300.00 for some box's to unlock only one model of phone.

  • Hi,

It’s possible to get a NUC (network unlock code) from Vodafone, although you would need to be a Vodafone customer on either Pay As You talk or contract.

You would just need to go to https://www.vodafone.co.uk, selecting ‘contact us’ and email. Here you can forward your details over to our customer service team who’d be able to request your NUC (network unlock code). Please include the following details:

    - IMEI number (this can be found on the back of the battery panel, or by entering * # 0 6 # into the phone and pressing send)
    - Make and model of handset

Once received, Vodafone would be able to request the NUC code from the manufacturer (e.g. Nokia, Samsung etc)

This code is free of charge if the mobile is over twelve months old. If the handset is less than twelve months old then there would be a fee of £19.99. This is either debited from the account or the relevant calling credit needs to be applied onto the handset by the user at the time of applying for the code (hence the need to be a Vodafone customer).

If you’re not presently a Vodafone customer another alternative for you would be to take the handset to a high street independent mobile phone store who can offer unlocking facilities of their own.

Hi, I apologise if this has been asked before (I had a search and couldn't find it). My wife has a Sagem MyX-6 locked to Orange. Can it be unlocked by me (I have a data cable). I appreciate that it can't be done by entering a code (I have read the first post!).
    Cheers
