you may get the code from someone with access to the moto database you will need imei but it isnt usually free though
otherwise it can be unlocked directly by hardware

I bought 2-3 of these and thought I can unlock! Got one bday coming up and need it unlcoked, I can pay whoever via paypal to get this unlocked. PLEASE!

I paid one guy and ebay and he hasnt got back to me! Rather use someone here and happily give money to someone I know.
